I also thank you for your comment i appreciate it! Now that I’m back from vacation i can get a new video done! I agree with the items you place in your kit I put a Swiss classic sd in mine and a pile of other stuff i will probably go over it in the future

UST makes some good gear, but this kit needs a lot of additions to qualify as a survival kit! Cool container, though. I would love to see your version.

I thought someone would ask that I will have to dig it out of my pack and go over it there’s a lot more gear in it and if I remember right I made it a back up edc gear/survival kit. I will go over that one after all these pre made kits. Plus my own last ditch kit!

I would start by getting rid of both the glow stick and the poor quality compass and add a luminous or florescent tube in a tube fob (maybe even a tritium tube in a cage) or maybe the tube by itself that’s small enough to be housed in the necklace clasp and can be rigged to the necklace. I would also add either a better quality more standard button compass or a Suunto-style clip compass if you wanted the watch attachment effect. Beyond that, I would add a dedicated fishing kit, maybe a dedicated snare kit, maybe a survival card, a ferro rod and striker, a water catchment bag, some water purification tablets, a mini med kit (a few various bandages, some gauze dressings, some sanitizer wipes, medical tape, small scissors, tweezers, some burn cream packets, maybe some triple-antibiotic packets, and some analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-diarrheal tablets), some fire tabs or a tinder card, maybe a keychain light, maybe a fresnel lens, maybe a signal mirror, maybe a safety whistle, a simple sewing kit, and a small multi-tool. The interesting thing about this kit is that, with the way the lanyard piece is set up to double as a necklace, you could almost make two separate kits, the other being a “necklace survival kit”, especially if you added a small pill carrier or two to it. P.S. As a side note, I DEFINITELY think you should review for us that kit you made that you mentioned.

My kit is going to be the last kit I review before I start testing the kits in the woods. Everything you added would fit for sure it would be tight but I made a kit like this before and it’s packed full still to this day with tools and gear. I think the necklace lanyard was done on purpose to attach the gear to it as needed it’s just a very minimal kit that definitely needs some additional items added for sure! It was a fun review though thanks for coming back again!

Maybe, maybe I'll just ignore this kit. In fact, let's just ignore everything else and simply carry aquatabs and radiation iodine pills. Because aquatabs are the bare essential. Yes, sir, no knife, no fire, no cover, no wallet, no keys; all you need are the aquatabs.
@andydaniels3029
@andydaniels3029 2 месяца назад
@@puppiesarepower3682 even the aquatabs aren’t strictly essential, as if you know how to do primitive water purification, and really primitive methods of all of these bits of equipment, then not one bit of the equipment is strictly essential; it just makes the process quicker and more convenient.

@@puppiesarepower3682 haha 🤣 what are you going to put the water in to use the tabs with? Bare essentials for sure 😁

The containers are water proof, but the hinges break easily.

I can see that happening I have had a kit like this that I built in a backpack for a few years I have not really used it but it’s been holding up that definitely did seem like a weak point

The most helpful survival item in this video is the multitool you used to open the kit 🤣

Really stretching the meaning of survival kit. It doesn't cover any of the important things. Hardly shelter no fire ,no first aid. No filter for water. A very small container. That's very disappointing because ust makes some very useful equipment. What i find scary is ultra light backpackers especially the youtube breed. They don't believe in be prepared. In fact they use the term "don't pack your fears" that's great when everything goes well. It's the time when everything turns against you ive always prepared for. Ive experienced some unbelievable things. From boyscouts to the military. Seen hypothermia, anaphylactic shock from ants. Saw a guy not remove the rubber ring from a ammo can. We were making rabbit stew. He made a personal face melting device. Another time it was extremely cold in Utah on ammo guard. One of the guys made a fire. Back then we had weapons and ammo. He took out 2 rounds but only used one. The second round was lost in the sand. Next night fire a explosion sent shrapnel into his leg. The military then made us guard ammo with just a radio. I got into trouble for pointing out we were 10 miles into the desert. Im sure nobody is going to rob us because their guns are empty. How threatening is stop or ill say stop again! That was a wake up to me on how the military cares. I have many more including how they let my Sgt.major Die on a dropzone. Then lied about the injury. Now a dropzone is named after him. At FtBenning Darby range. Rangers lead the way! Sua Sponte! Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst. Means im not surprised by anything in-between.

I 100 percent agree with you. Every person should be operating on some level of preparation. It’s kind of crazy to not prepare a little bit. Social media kind of makes the prepping community seem like crazy people but it’s quite the opposite. Don’t get me wrong there are crazy people in every corner of every type of community but it doesn’t hurt to keep some extra food around or build a get home bag. Thanks for telling me some clips of acouple of your story’s. I would like to hear more of them in the future and more details if possible it sounds like you had a pretty insane interesting military career. My cousin used to tell me story’s like this when he was in Iraq

It's really not worth the time or money to upgrade. The case seems to be not very durable.

If your going to store it in a pack it will be ok but not outside of a pack I have one of these in an edc bag filled with stuff and it’s been good for a few years but the latch would be the weak point for sure

This one is not impressive. Looks like the contents are what the company had too much of that was left over from other kits. Cannibalize it, and start from scratch with that nice container.

Yea I thought the same thing keep the space blanket for the outside of the container and move from there!

Your comment sums up this "kit" perfectly. I came across a kit with a similar premise made by SOL that was being sold as "a starter kit," that had an expansion towel, a compass, a space blanket, and a whistle that I purchased at Ross.
