Having used this for a few months, the frame of this clone is made of (a bit) thinner sheet metal than the Surge. This brings some unwanted flexing if it's used to twist things hard. Not that you should use it to remove & retighten ATR72 nose wheel axle nuts tho. The bit holder works like a charm. Pop a 6x1mm neodymium magnet and a 7mm E-ring to retain that magnet, you're good with just about all 1/4" driver bits.

Buy two, open one and empty it. Repack it with your extras to build on the still sealed can and then tape the two together. Use a p-38 or similar to remove the inside lip of the opened one to make it easier to work with. Real sardine cans work just as good and literally cost nothing. Remember knife, fire, and cordage are your must haves. A baby Bic would be one of my basics. Knife-wise....a real steel scalpel handle cut down with three blades....an X-acto handle cut down....a cheapo old school steak knife cut down and re-edged....a second hand Rada type paring knife cut down....an old Buck keychain folder similar to that China knife in one of those past kits. A knife doesn't have to be a razorblade to be small nor China to be cheap. Cordage, wrap the tins both ways with accessory cord. One core strand paracord. Great video, sir!

Not bad, but some things like a signal mirror and and a condo.. "water container" as well as the sewing needle you mentioned would be good. I made my own survival kit in a can a while ago which is always better as i don't need to make a profit, but the good thing about these purchased ones is that they are sealed and so last practically forever.
@whitetailsurvival2430
@whitetailsurvival2430 3 часа назад
Yes you’re right they are sealed up as long as it’s not in extreme heat and extreme cold. A good rubber water storage container works I had a lady tell me the other day to put the rubber in a sock and it makes it a lot stronger and less likely to break.

Always liked sardine can kits, an old but still good concept for the kit that gets tossed in a pack or glove compartment just in case. This looks quite like the Whistle Creek & Coghlan's versions. Might add a shotgun, several bandoliers of 12ga. slugs, and a machete. Thanks for the uploads WS and congrats on 1k!

Any kit that contains a net shuttle and broadheads is officially a protein procurement kit. Looks meant to be added to a ditch bag (small plane, boat, lifeboat, any vehicle) or survival cache. Instructions would help! I'd swap a decent multi-tool w/saw for the pliers and add: pre-made snares in various sizes, a gig, a dozen scalpel blades with a handle, nitrile gloves, and game shears. I'd also pack the fishing stuff into a separate box altogether and add way more gear. This one is for long-term survival. Thanks for the excellent review!
@whitetailsurvival2430

Yes it’s an awesome one it’s like a live food procurement kit. I would add at least a few eyelets to make a rod or even toss in a tenkara rod and extra line for that plus some flys. Swapping the tool out would be genius. Everything you brought up is a great idea and a great addition to a survival kit as a food procurement section! Thanks for the comment again I appreciate it

Oh no! You just released the tiny amount of anthrax that gets concealed in all these kits from China! Just makin' a bit of conspiracy theorist humor. Or am I? LOL?? Oh no!! Then you released the backup one just like they hoped. AWWGGG!!!! Seriously, I think this is a pretty well thought out kit. I think the fletching would be more useful if it was a two vane variety that could maybe be slipped into a slit in the shaft before the nocks were put into place. That would keep you from having to be skilled with pine resin and how it's used. Or if there were extensions in front and back of the plastic "feather" part so it could be lashed to a shaft with some of the cordage. If the inside of the arrow heads came pre-filled with hot melt glue they could be heated by a flaming twig and pressed onto a shaft to glue it in place, in case you couldn't find a way to drive that tiny brad nail with a rock. I've seen a RU-vidr named James Bender on Waypoint Survival fabricate a keychain spoon from a small coupling nut and a thrift store spoon into a handy eating tool. When he was done he had a short threaded hole on the end of the spoon bowl. All he had to do when he needed to eat with it was find a twig of a convenient length and whittle a slight taper on its end and then screw it into the spoon bowl. By drilling a hole in it he could keep it on his keychain. It seems to me that that same design could have been used so the arrow heads in this kit could just screw onto a wooden shaft. That yellow gadget is a shuttle and can be used in weaving as well as net making. That ax head looks to be everything that those stupid little credit card wallet survival tools wishes they could be. It has the mass to pull it off. I don't understand how the flat head screwdriver part off that peppermint stick shaped tool is supposed to be used, so please demonstrate that when you start your "use testing". The very idea of using nail gun strips as a compact way to pack in some useful fasteners is definitely smart, outside-the-box thinking. I think I'll include some larger ones in any kit that I build. With all the other abundant fishing gear, I'm a little surprised that a few tiny screw eyes or safety pins weren't included to construct a pole. Easy to add some yourself though. All-in-all, way more interesting than most kits of that size and price. Made some of my gears start turnin'.Thanks for showing it to us.

I wanted to thank you for the long detailed comment there are definitely a lot of cool stuff included in this kit and this will definitely be an awesome one to test out in the field. That threaded spoon thing sounds awesome I may have to check that video out for sure. I need to learn how to use the shuttle it would be a good skill to know. I thought about constructing the axe first then using the blunt end of the axe to tap the nails in. I like your idea of adding the threaded eyes into this kit that was a missed opportunity for a fishing rod. All in all I like the kit it seems like it’s well thought out and everything is great quality thanks again for the awesome comment!

I enjoy the homemade kits people assemble to sell, to see different perspectives on what it takes to get thru a few hours or an overnight in an emergency situation. Nice braided/fused fishline, strong stuff and multi-use. I've tried the survival cards a couple times, sharpened the knife edge etc. but ended up just liking the saw edge for scraping cedar bark into tinder. That space in a pocket tin might be better occupied by a water bag, signal mirror, Fresnel lens, or repair tape. To this kit I'd add a ferro rod, safety pins, sail needle, and if it will fit, a jigsaw blade and one of the tiny keychain flashlights. Thanks WS!

I’d add a light source (probably a keychain light), maybe a bit of snare wire, a small flint and striker, a safety whistle, a survival card, and a folded up bag for water catchment, but I’m not sure the latter three or four items would fit in it. I’d also add a couple sinkers and maybe a couple floats to the fishing kit and I’d have stuck the striker pad on a slightly sturdy flat backing and compartmentalized it with the matches bag. I might also fill out the first-aid items a bit if there’s room with a couple burn creams, one slightly larger bandage pad, and a couple anti-inflammatory/analgesic and anti-diarrheal pills. Might have to add a couple rubber bands or Ranger Bands to keep it closed if I tried to fit all or most of it in though lol.

It would be alittle tight but if your Good enough at organization of these tins then I feel like you can get a good bit of that stuff in there. I packed the kit back up in one try with room left so there’s room for a few more things! Thanks for the comment again! Thanks for being so reliable also!

I have scanned over your videos and I haven't found it but I was wondering if you have put a kit together yourself? Id like to see you do a serious kit and by that I mean cover all the necessities like a cheap shower curtain for a shelter and a decent saw or blade to help process wood and fish if you can catch one. I think with your history of reviewing these survival kits you could really do a bang up job on one yourself. These are cool and all but when I started looking over prebuilt kits I just decided to build my own years ago. Don't get me wrong I'm going to keep watching you review these kits because like I said they are cool but man I think you could do a much better job with your own.

I actually have 5 last ditch kits I built I’ve been using one for 3 years or so now and it’s been holding up great. It goes in the woods with me all the time. I’m going to sell the last 4 I’m still tweaking and and what not but it’s a pretty substantial kit. It basically covers every aspect that all of these kits have in them plus more. It’s more of a belt kit than a pocket kit though! I’m going to go over more of my own kits I mad later on after these pre made ones are all done.

Another great video and kit, thanks for using cm on the blade length. See if you can find Les Strouds survival kit and give that a review. It’s probably 10-15 years since he produced it, but would be cool to see

@@whitetailsurvival2430 of what I have seen it’s a real basic kit with room for us to ad thing we might need for our environment, but would be cool to see anyway, and maybe get your opinion to what you would add to it for your environment
