Do You have a good top spin lob? You rarely hit one. Could be a nice addition instead of always going at the net players especially when they are both on top of the net.
It's a shot I don't really like but yea matches like this would be a great time to use it. Definitely would have been beneficial since they get so close to the net to try to retrieve my top spin at them.
Hi Andrew. I noticed on your return of serve after your split step, you were having to move backwards a lot to make ideal contact. Would starting another half step back remedy this so you could keep your forward momentum into your shot?
great point, yea I could try that.. I need to check other matches and see if that's maybe something I do every time maybe that is just a habit at this point. Aggressive returns haven't always been a strong point of my game maybe leaning forward into the shot more there would help. I'll keep it in mind thanks!
Good match Andrew! Your serve is looking great, kinda reminds me of the Nishikori service motion, actually. Lots of great points in this one, and good job on returning it with good pace and hitting it wide at 4:11 Naveen was serving close to the T and you took great advantage of that with the return you hit! If you don't mind telling me, what was the score in those sets? Keep up the good work brother, let's keep playing and working hard! :)
Three questions for you, just because I'm curious. For how long have you been training and playing tennis? How many hours a week do you play tennis? What other type of training other then tennis do you do regularly Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the great upload, as entertaining as usual and which camera did you use for the footage at 1.52mins. I wish I could serve like you for both 1st and 2nd serve
Sau Yan really appreciate it! That point is from the Sony 4K camera. It doesn’t have a wide angle capture like the GoPro so it is not very useful indoors. I can’t put it far behind the baseline because there a wall so I don’t get many points that are usable from it but it takes a very high-quality video. what are you struggling with on the serve?
@@iRacer3 Thanks for the reply, the footage from the Sony 4K is absolutely stunning. I struggle to get enough top-spin on the first and especially the second serve (when it is needed most) but that's a technical issue that I am working towards on. I need to generate more racket head speed and drive up towards the ball but that is going to take time.
Why stay at the baseline so much? Your return is always cc and deep so you could easily move in and put pressure on! Also noticed that your partner move to net alot but you guys don't move in together? Do you prefer 1 up 1 back? If so, what are the benefits you get from it? (playing your strengths, avoiding weakness, etc?)
only way to become realy good at doubles is playing lots fo doubles...in some matches you quickly going to see the difference in your tactical overview of it..keep it up man i realy like watching your consistent tennis..reminds me that sometimes..its not all about hitting 100mph forehands..although its super cool and satisfying it doesnt win you matches..consistency wins.........of course hitting ever 150 mph forehand like my coach means you always win XDD
Hi Andrew The go pro camera angle is the best one but try setting up your main camera at that angle it would be the best! Are you using cyclone for your strings? Because they're good but I think you should give weiss cannon ultra cable a go because they are literally the craziest spin string in the market and I think with your swing path especially on your forehand you would find it almost unfair to use that string 🤪, don't tell anybody I told you! Try it! Trust me... You definitely will be surprised, it's a four sided string! It's unmatched for spin potential! For realz yo 🤙😁 Try it once! I dare you, As for your tennis... Keep it up, more volley practice is required like all of us 🤣, look up Bryan bros doubles drills and check out the one they do moving all around the court continuously volleying from different points and angles, it's brilliant to try and incorporate this into practice ✌️
@@iRacer3 I also use Ultra Cable and it's great, but if you want even more control and feel, try Ultra Cable in the mains and Weiss Cannon Red Ghost in the crosses. Great hitting btw.
When converting 5.0 and 4.5 into french ranking (where i play since im 3yo and im 17 today) it’s actually somewhere like my level +/- better but i can’t believe that the technic is si différent in usa, really ,it feel like you are playing very bad (ur not dont get me wrong) but in France people have un general a really beauty technic agreable to see, yours looks so weird ...
yea man I am 100% self taught so my strokes are raw and completely unrefined. I know what you mean about USA players... I think a lot of us are using more athleticism and less technique. Kind of reminds of Frances Tiafoe he is raw athleticism and doesn't have the most beautiful strokes but can get the job done either way.
iRacer3 yep absolutely, Nice example tiafoe is really good and either of his backhand or forehand are quit unique and not usual. In France and more it feels like people have a really « educationnal » technic
