To say that Ali Akbar Khan was not a great musician is to utter the oddest possible words to describe one of the greatest musicians ever born on this planet.
Very True Sukanti da !! One who disregards Khan Saheb doesn't understand music, that's all that can be said. Sukanti da about this particular Kirwani, could it be Ustad Aashish Khan ?
We feel blessed when we hear music from such personalities. Music lovers will ever remember Subrataji for his contribution to us.May his soul rest in peace. Who is running this channel/site at present?🙏
Dear Subrata, we miss you. Will there be any chance that in the future you continue your invaluable work, very appreciated by many many music lovers. Thank you anyway for all the jewels you shared with us. All the best.
Just came to know about this particular link and comments about my friend Subrata Chowdhury. He is alive and doing well, and taking a break from posting (do not if permanent). Please spread the word. We wish him healthy and long life to continue the good work.
Great rendition by AAK. Ustad Amjad Ali Khan also plays great. And Ustad Shahid Pervez in sitar. But a notch above the rest is NB for his God gifted, ethereal touch and unidirectional approach.
That was my apprehension ever since the uploads stopped suddenly. His contribution has been priceless. What a collection! And the generosity of sharing. RIP Sir.
I think we should all be extremely thankful to Mr Chowdhury. He is one who has changed the way we all see Indian Classical Music. His contribution was incredible. RIP
Arkadeb Sengupta We do not refer to it as Mishra Kirwani. Just for the record Khansahib did use komal Ni in Kirwani a lot. Pretty much every time he played it. It is still taught as Kirwani in class. Shuddha Ni only versions are lacking in my opinion but that is true kirwani. Khansahib and Nikhil really played the best Kirwani and both used the Komal Ni. Khansahib pretty much rewrote the rules . :)
@@battlewolfe2083 AAK had a complex approach, covering all facets of Kirwani. But NB used to select the essence of the ragrup and used to stick to it to the end with a real impact. It is horizontal vs vertical exploration of the raga, one goes for the breadth of the whole, the other goes deep to the end of a vital portion.
My friend, anyone can get up in the morning and can say the Sun is not great. It does not call for any damage to the Sun. It is the damage to the soul of the person who opines this.
