Basant Bahar concert 10- 14- 90 in Berkeley Ca. Part 1 of 2 recorded by haidar adina Note: The purpose of this non monetized upload is to preserve this great music, if for any reason you wish this should not be shared please contact us.
Late 80s: 3 young masters appeared bursting in the scene. Ustad Rashid Khan with Hansadhwani, Vidushi Aswini Bhide with Bhimpalashi and Ustad Shahid Parvez with Yaman. Still they are my fav.
Shahidji is 30 in this video and his bandishes and layakari have the same level of technical maturity as they have now. Does that mean he mastered all these things in his 20s only?
Must be so. Newton wrote his master piece when he was 34, Einstein when he was 26. Ashraf Sharif Khan also attained a very high level in his early teens. Most creative persons achieve a very high level at a very young age.
Thank you so much to you for uploading these great moments of Indian music history. It is so precious for indian music lovers who live far from India !
Hahaha laykari to gayab hai isme se aadhe se jyada time ustad ne bas gat hi bajaya hai isme to table Wale ne jyada entertain Kiya hai......Ustad Vilayat khan to bahut door ki kaudi hai....
He doesn't play Sitar. He plays zitar. An instrument which is a mix of guitar & sitar. He is more of a experimentalist a fusion artist. A totally different artist who doesn't fit in to the category of a proper Sitarist. Having said so, nothing bad against him
@@vaibhavchoudhary4895 I have heard from one of his close friend upon asking the same thing as has been claimed here, he said he is a mad genius but money and fame do not lie in being a purist. He said just a few months back he played a complete Raag for more than an hour among a mature group of audience in Banaras. Being a purist alongside being a genius is possible only for a big big heart who just serve humanity by being a purist. They do not earn much. They serve, they heal!
