Khan Sahib wouldn’t have permitted taping. If someone had done it stealthily it was not stealing it was archiving something rare for posterity and distribution of wealth to many. I was guilty of it but each such recorded music was given to friends who formed a circle. A gem like this would have been lost if someone had recorded it stealthily.
Gat is a popular Nazrul song Naiya Dhire chalao tarani. NB also played the same gat many years later. Khan Sahibs Bhatiyali is legendary. In the fifties and sixties he wouldn’t be allowed to leave the stage without playing it. Picked up the strains from Rabindra Naths Bhenge mor gharer chabi
Rajuji, thanks very much for the generous share and of course to Rafat Sahab for kindly sharing his collection through you. You had shared this earlier although it didn't have the very valuable piece of conversation that is in the beginning of this upload. In that sense, this is a more complete recording. The earlier upload is here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ya1YGjQpkLg.html
I think there is another recording of this concert is available on You Tube; I may be wrong. But the quality and content of this is sublime . The Bhatiyali part seems the sitar gets as close possible to singing; just incredible!. @rajuji many many thanks
