Usyk was about to line up a straight left to put fury into the shadow realm. 90% of fighters would’ve ignored the ref and threw one last punch in usyk’s situation as the ref was running in.
the way the ref jumped in was suspect af. he gave the “wave the fight off” jump in because a “standing 8” jump in don’t look like that. he didn’t even direct Usyk to the neutral corner.
I told people fury was open for every shot under the sun and they were so sure fury had the best defense in the world lmfao. Fury was dropped 3 times in round 9. That ref was the only reason fury survived.
Fury, Canelo, and so many others, their defense is exaggerated and flashy because they lean so much and are jittery which fools people into thinking they're masters of evasion when in truth they get hit a lot and just showboat to make up for it.
@@AxleTrade fury definitely has extremely leaky defense but canelo for sure knows how to protect his chin well and also doesnt use exaggerated moves at all for the most part. His defense and especially offense has gotten worse over the years tho. If you have good examples of canelo consistently exaggerating moves Id like to see them.
@@Sarissa99 Precise has done videos regarding Canelo's defense already. Go watch those. A number of them are on this channel. He used to have some back on his old one.
you would think people would know that doing things that isn’t boxing (in a sport called boxing) is illegal. it’s like if people got away with punching and kicking in wrestling and people praise it by saying “what a crafty veteran tactic!!”
The ref should have given him a standing eight count much sooner than he did. The reason he didn't was because he was trying to save him from a ten eight round. He only jumped in when it was obvious Usyk was going to shut his lights out.
Have to agree that this was clearly a TKO. 2 times the Ref get in Usyk's way mid-attack and prevents him from doing his work. Based on the scorecards, its clear that there was a fix in because of course, rematch = more money. The 9th is was what upset that apple cart. Usyk should do a Khabib and retire on top. His achievements in the sport will most likely never be matched, let alone surpassed. And also it will spoil all the grifters in the sport's machinations.

Should have been called a knock down from the beginning, or on Fury's second motion to the ropes. But, I personally value "if you aren't defending yourself" (not holding your gloves up) the ref has every right to stop the fight. imo, either is fine but stopping the fight is what should have happened. The Ref just took too long to make a decision, which is the main problem.
Just found this channel. I appreciate the analytical approach. I think we'd agree on a lot in boxing. Personally I don't like referees stepping in, I'd prefer for them to let the fighter go down, only stepping in for KD or TKO if the fighter is very literally just sitting on the ropes, using them to stay up, and or practically immobile and being pounded. That being said, I understand why the referee stepped in here when he did, Fury was clearly tipped over, fell fully into the ropes, slid along the ropes, and fell into the corner, that is perfectly fair to be awarded as a KD to Usyk. However, I don't agree that just bouncing into or off the ropes is the same as "held up by the ropes", I see a distinction between, a fighter being hit and as an obvious and direct consequences tipping or falling heavily into the ropes, and a fighter moving into the ropes as a consequence of his own stepping or movement. Even in the case where eventually the ref stopped it and I agree Fury was held up by the ropes, moments later by the time he slid into the corner, Fury had his feet beneath him and leaned forward off the corner standing freely. To count that as a TKO would of be very wrong (regardless of other instances when it's happened, 2 wrongs don't make a right, a bad call is a bad call), evidently as Fury did recover and finished strong. There is also issue with the logic that the referee waiting to score the KD was somehow helping Fury, that only makes sense if we assume all the other examples of bad calls in previous fights were actually good. If it was so that Fury was held up by the ropes a few times maybe 20-30 seconds previous, then logically that would mean the referee acted in Usky's favour by not giving the standing count and instead letting Usyk carry on to maybe score a full KO or immobilise Fury so much that a TKO was warranted. I can't say what would of happened in the last 10 seconds in the referee didn't step in, but since I'm in favour of referee's staying out of the fight and letting fighters go down themselves, we can just look at the clock in the fight, and see that even if Fury went down exactly when the standing KD was called, he would of been saved by the bell anyway, there was almost literally just 10 seconds left. It's also entirely possible, and I'd say likely, that Fury would of remained standing for those last 10 seconds and just taken the beating, in which case again the referee's actions helped Usyk by awarding him a KD he might not of otherwise gotten.
rigondeaux was a master at putting vicious ko shots in while holding the opponents head down. also mayweather was a master of the slap left hook. in general his hooks were very often slaps. both maidana, canelo and pacquiao fights had a ton of these slaps called hooks by the commentators.
When I was watching this fight, I thought the judge tried to save Fury a knockdown which cost him more but looking back I think the judge did the very best sequence of decisions here. The rule says as you showed, if the ropes are holding the fighter from falling, it's a knockdown. The first three "leaning on the ropes" are not very conclusive. If he was to rule a knockdown, it should have been one that no one would object. E.g., if he ruled any of the first three, usyk supporters would say "judge saved Fury from further damage"; fury supporters would say "that's not a knockdown".. but the last one was clearly hanging on the ropes. Now, was it a TKO? The judge rules a TKO, when he thinks that further action will cause more "unnecessary" damage, the boxer will no longer defend himself, there's no point in continuing the fight. Now here's the important piece: the judge letting Fury continue to fight proved that he was able to continue to fight right? He fought well afterwards. No self-respecting judge would stop the fight on the first knockdown like this. If he stopped it, we wouldn't know what would happen next. I'm glad he didn't.
I'm an Usyk fan by the way. I think the split decision was a joke. I don't know about the low blows etc. but I'm sure that this sequence was the cleanest part of the fight for fighters, judges, etc :)
There's a difference between a fighter stumbling into or leaning on the ropes, and a fighter who is falling and just being held up by the ropes. If you can't tell the difference between the first two and the third one, I don't really know what to say.
People really want boxing to become MMA, idiots want fury to just get ground and pounded. But if you're going to really go really super technical, Usyks team were on the corner ring apron and thats a disqualification I believe LOL.
boxing is the only sport I know with such loosely officiated matches in terms of the rules.its like each ref and judge goes by his own point of view.I get that the nature of boxing makes it harder than other sports to rule ideally, but you would expect that after a 100 mfkin years they would have gotten better at it.
People forget that in this duelism of a re-all-it-b all outcomes are probability based in nature. Some how the re-all's rendering is computated flawlessly. And what happens no matter what anyone thinks, is exactly what was supposed to happen. Otherwise something else would have happened. And those involved are always the exact right people to bring about a given outcome. But most importantly when it's over, it's over. Next!
great fight, but all that falling back (9th round) on the ropes excessively, I felt like Fury was exaggerating a bit, seemed like it was a wresting match, aka WWE.
I appreciate that he didn’t wave it off but going down even if he gets up it makes it harder because it’s 250 lbs I’m not saying he wouldn’t beat the count e I’m sure he would but that is a big big deal and could’ve been a big difference!! I believe fury getting off the Canvas is part of the game. I don’t know what do you think?
Somebody needs to show the commentators these rules! Some refs will allow a grace period for holding when hurt, But you are supposed to break when the ref says break. They all allow holding today!
i dont think he was out until he fell into the corner knees bent hunched over, that impact to the corner probably did more damage than any of the punches after the first that rocked him he actually only landed a few more punches in that 20 seconds. fury was dodging and blocked some actually. that is a knockdown, not a stoppage. you gonna say a ref telling a boxer to go to a neutral corner after a knockdown is a stoppage? the refs are robbing so many boxers of tko by not letting them hit after knockdown.
Round 9 was the only problem i had with the ref. Fury was absolutely gone and the ropes held him up multiple times My wife recorded me shouting at him to call a knockdown 😂😂😂. I was pretty mad, that was a real dangerous situation
The truth about round nine is that Usyk performed perfect shot on the chin. That's the way you drop bigger man. By the way, you can call me crazy but i scored it 111 - 116 in favour of Usyk and Craig Metcalfe must be on dope! And last, it's arguable if after first punch referee call it knockdown would it be better for Fury. I believe if referee called it knockdown instantly like in Price - Povetkin, would be in Fury's favour. He would get precious time to recover and avoid that beating.
This channel is the best. It takes everything in consideration. Not like Matthew Fouts pendulum step channel. Unaware of physiqual aspects lf the fighters or corruption. Fight Film has this sport figured out.
@@FightFilms The ref applied the rules. I dont it see it with the first time he still looked "ok" and was defending himself. the second and third time he fell in the ropes they are so close to each other and the ref didnt have time to jump in yet but he did. He counted and Fury looked still ok to continue so this in my opinion this is splitting hairs. and Yes fights have been waved off early in the past and we all hate it but now we complain that its not waved off? If usyk was waved off like this we would have been called BS so what are we talking about?
@@AllAmericanWoman1390 no complicating just pointing out that the rules where applied and that this insinuating that some how fury was saved by the ref because he dit not count earlier is bs.

I feel like he was robbed of a KO, looked like Fury's eyes were rolling back, he was quick to recover but he had that stunned, deer in the headlights look. his legs were spaghetti He was having a harder time standing than just going down. Was almost like when tommy morrison got clobbered by Mercer. hard to say, maybe the ref had a bit of mercy. looks like Uysk showed a bit of mercy too. looked like He could have punched Fury with a good right hook and another two on the way down, but pulled it back. 10:25 what's interesting about those slapping punches fury throws. are how you would punch somebody with a weapon, I.E knuckle dusters, brass knucks, or those cat's claws. Lennox Lewis used to sneak in illegal punches. those collar tie uppercuts. he would throw a long hook around there head, (hold and hit) pulling their head into a uppercut. which to be fair, some boxers hid it from refs, while some crappy refs just let it go.
