A documentary film about the old disappearing Kalmyk song genre UT DUN (drawn out song).
2021 in the city of Elista (rep. Kalmykia), a project was carried out to popularize the Kalmyk chants of Ut dun. Project manager, Honored Artist of the Republic of Kalmykia, Ervena Orgaeva.
For 2.5 months, classes were held at Ervena's studio, where the participants (non-professional singers) learned this ancient genre almost from scratch and were able to perform and show the result at the reporting concert.
Many participants, upon completing the course, shared their impressions and noted that after the course their life changed for the better and they began to understand more and more fully the culture of the people.
The film was shot with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Kalmykia.
