I've been a Longhorns supporter since the 1970's when I was in High School. South Park HS Beaumont, TX class of 1978. I've celebrated the great wins, and suffered the losses as well. It seems like we have a great chance this year to make some waves in the College Football spectrum. I watched our Horns beat them all in our last Championship victory in 2006 in what some say is the greatest college football game ever played. Move on to 2010 when we suffered the loss and embarrassment in that Championship game when Colt McCoy went down and was taken out of the game to result in the Alabama victory. I live and work in Alabama, so must listen to all the Crimson Tide hype, and how our beloved Horns can't keep up with the 'Big Boys' in the SEC. Well, here is our chance in Week 2 this season. Last year, we played our butts off against them in Austin in a 20-19 heartbreaking loss. Which should have been a Texas win. Questionable officiating calls, i.e. the safety that wasn't called when Bryce Young was sacked in the end zone, and 1 missed field goal cost us the game. We had them beat. So now in 2023 it is coming to another showdown with the vaunted Nick Saban and his Crimson Tide hosting our revamped team full of star players. It is time people! Time for the Texas Longhorns to bull through the schedule and attain greatness again. We have the players, Coach Sarkisian and his hand picked coaching staff, and the support of the whole Longhorn Nation as always. Time to pick it up and make it happen.
