This is false. Short-term rentals are not creating a housing shortage. We just have a housing shortage and it’s creating all the problems. The solution is less government regulation and fees which make it hard to build.
Nonsense. Our housing in our mountain communities was decimated. Speculators buy up all the affordable houses, evicting long term residents, to do BnB. Our county, here in California, is putting the breaks on it. Tell me, are YOU a RE agent? Are YOU running some of these?
Yo I'm a firm believer in this is the United States of America the freest country in the world and if you don't like what happens on a property buy it and make it your own then you can control what happens on the property if by chance you do not own said property then keep your mouth shut you have no reason to say anything about what somebody else does with their personal property
This is an attempt to take away this market niche. So, what’s the objective, to give away the houses to people that can’t afford to buy them? There’s not a housing shortage. You can drive across the valley and see thousands of empty, brand spanking new apt. buildings ALL OVER. What is suddenly upsetting the housing market monopolies, with people buying and owning private properties and having the right and freedom to utilize as they choose? P.S. that hit piece was poorly done, really had to try and scrape the bottom of the barrel for “incidences” that would paint short term vacation rental owners, and renters as “bad guys”. Try harder next time. It was like listening to an old person complain about a neighbors cat, and then trying to make it sound like we should get rid of all cats because of it.
