Hi Dusty, If you contact your Ute councils whether Ute Mountain Ute tribe or Southern Ute, you can get info on language classes. Maybe they're doing on line lessons now. We worked with the Ute Mt. language mentors and they can share info with you. Best of luck with learning your language!
I’m southern Ute. . My great aunt send my son her teaching preschoolers Ute. From that I watched and paused so I could take notes. My son knows 1-10. And some food items and says them in the grocery store. We’re young and I’m willing to learn so my son can.
Hi Zena, I think if your tribe doesn't offer language, contact the Mt Utes. Ask for their on going language program. They teach anyone who is interested and when it comes to the youth, they encourage learning Ute so it doesn't disappear. These days, your son might be able to do this on line.
