It's another mother of modulation, easily one of my favorites for such flexibility that can't be easily done elsewhere in hardware. Time stamps below. Utilities rule and make everything come alive.
I took a slightly new approach in this episode, where I go into a couple patch examples at the end, thus it's a much longer video than my usual format with plenty here for all the new learners and I don't blame you If you want to just skip to the good stuff:
00:00 Intro
00:34 Initial overview and thoughts
01:04 Bullet Points from Quick Start Guide with my commentary
05:03 My approach for use explained
06:22 Programming from scratch
07:14 First patch scenario and walkthrough of pitch transposed sequence
08:23 Programming the preset for the scenario
12:16 Testing the first example with sound
13:25 Saving the preset
14:38 Second scenario patch and programing for Strymon Magneto
19:59 Testing the second example with sound
21:30 Cooking in more control now!
22:33 Final thoughts

Check out this other utility module I reviewed recently which plays nicely with CF and pretty much everything. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XNXg7dbXGO0.html

I guess it is kinda randomly asking but do anybody know of a good website to stream newly released movies online?

You sir, are a legend. I have been casually playing with my CF as I make my way through the manual but this video has helped me get my head around the programming far more so than the documentation (which is still great!). Cheers

Great module! I had the chance to try out a friend's control forge and love it. Rossum makes great stuff. Also like the Acid Rain Maestro as it is easier to use and no menu diving.

This thing is super cool and unlike anything else in modular. The fact that it’s only one channel is kinda mind blowing. Why not make it 4 channel. Great videos!

Great use case video especially with you pairing it with the Magneto, another favorite module of mine. I hope you'll create other looks at Control Forge as I believe it's a very overlooked amazing piece of kit.

Hello don't know why I haven't commented on this .. your video on the control forge is excellent.. as a new user of the control forge your input is essential! Plus love how you have humanized and made asessible for people and focused into use cases... Your presentation style is very clear, to the point and enjoyable to listen to.. thanks so much would love to see follow up videos where you talk about more of the present ideas you have used. Personally I am thinking about using a slow chaotic LFO into the CV1 socket and then triggering a sequence based on the input being over a certain threshold.. I've always wanted to do this... Think in this video you have covered off two really important examples. Thanks so much I have subbed

Thank you for the kind words! I'm working on several things now so I hope to have them out before too long.

Great video. Can't really see where this fits my workflow. Need to see more use cases. That magneto example, hard to tell how a generic sequencer/ looped random would be worse.

Have every Rossum module minus the mob of emus ..... nicely used , the vector idea is nice esp. I would love a video on that.

thanx! very well explained and gave me some answers i didn´t found anywhere else. I think it can be also very interesting for smooth subtile fm modulations over time or moving fx just a bit and getting crazy in the break of a song. Is it right that you can also record cv?
@dbvelocity6508
@dbvelocity6508 3 года назад
It does not record cv, but it can process it with quantize, evaluate for a threshold or simply track it for Relative levels.

So much programming... you should have at least another 80 years to live for this kind stuff...
@dbvelocity6508
@dbvelocity6508 3 года назад
Might seem like it.. As it can go deep. Nothing says you have to though. Like I say, do basic functions. Make changes and save in new slots as you go. It gets quick to dial in too but, yes ..ymmv

@@dbvelocity6508 For basic stuff its faster to use a multi stage analog device.

The point is to build on that basic stuff, start somewhere and take it into the beyond.

@@dbvelocity6508 Bought it and finding it less less less less intuitive than Verbos, however if you just go nuts randomly its cool. For stuff like envelopes nothing is less intuitive than this thing...
@dbvelocity6508

Well it's a bit apples and oranges there. There's similarities in that there are stages that output voltages. The digitally generated versus the analog, having shapes to create glides and the inclusion of evaluation steps makes it a very different beast. Programming isn't for everyone, but it unlocks a lot of potential that moves beyond the mundane.
