I'm a while belt and even I know to put way more pressure on someone that doesn't happen to me so easily. I'm not sure who this is for? Really seems like it's missing an entire pre-set up that would create such a gap.
To pre-set this user your left hand on his trap and wrench your forearm I to his face, creat space on the bottom by framing off his arm with you right (sometimes I'll use my right elbow like a kick stand while simultaneously shrimping away and getting my knee in) monkey grip and roll.
it's 100% effective when you make it effective. Nobody is saying they'll be no resistance, it's a demonstration. I swear I see a kid like you in every bjj video saying some shit like "a tRuE grApPLeR wOuLdnT fALL FoR tHiS" lmfao if no true grappler aint never falling for any moves, then how they be losin in comps? Nobody should be submitted in comps then, or maybe they arent true grapplers, but some keyboard warrior online is? Which do you think is more likely?
Bruh. The kimura is literally one of the greatest moves in BJJ and all mixed martial arts in general. I consider this, the triangle choke, the guillotine, combined with some crucial freestyle wrestling taketowns to be abaolutely vital in a fight
@@gamestopmillionaire5952 what about the counter sweep to end up in Kimura trap position. This armbar counter to the kimura only works on people that don’t play Kimura a lot, or are surprised by it.
Guys this is just one weapon of many to add to your arsenal. The probability of it working is extremely low but depending on what's happened before there's a chance your opponent gives some space for whatever reason, you then know it can be a possibility.
You "crush your weight into them" until you dont. Unless you plan to stay in that one position & try to pin them for the rest of the roll (and you'll be reversed eventually anyway), you'll need to take pressure off to advance your position. Then space can be made.
This gives the guy on top an armbar if he just spins across to the other side. A great example of this is when Matt Hughes tapped GSP with an armbar when they first fought.

No body in side control is going to be that loose on top of you unless they don’t know what they are doing . I guess you’d have to attempt this while they are barley getting into side control or getting up to set you up for something but most of the time they are low and heavy and aren’t on both knees . Looks cool though ,I’m definitely trying this when able too it’s always cool to have new stuff in the rotation. Thanks .
this would be good if u were like…in a scramble that kind of felt like it could go sidecontrol their way. I could totally see someone pulling this off fr
My favorite is grabbing there leg thats to your right and turning your head then bridging and fliping over if there foot is in the right spot it works everytime
I catch that on pretty much everyone I roll with on the mats. You would be surprised how many in the bjj community cannot defend kimura based transitions. Don't be fooled....we can bump our gums all day until you roll with a guy that uses the kimura as his transition. It can be a nightmare.
bait folks all of the time with a loose arm so that they'll grab a kimura from bottom side. then, run my feet to the other side visiting armbar city... we seem to be at an impasse.
I like how everyone doesn't resist against the technique when doing the demonstration??? Great instrumental work from you still sir. I admittedly know nothing about the art sir.
I purposely leave my arm out to bait this on people lol. I no longer respect the kimura from bottom. Only because I am very comfortable defending. Once, they go for it, I usually go into mount because people have trouble thinking of multiple areas available. Good stuff though, you have to understand it.
