Ed's Impala has driven at Goodwood before. But it is in road car spec, so would not be ready to race.

@@edfoster1447 HUGE congratulations to you, Ed. 👏😊 Starting on the front row was impressive enough… Then, keeping your cool after the restart, holding things together throughout the race & pressing on for THE WIN was the stuff of dreams… something that your infectiously EXUBERANT reaction, upon crossing the line, demonstrated so well! ⚡️✊🥳⚡️ That was simply one of THE BEST & most heartwarmingly honest reactions to winning a race, that I’ve ever seen… “Head & shoulders” above any other. But then, you’re used to being “head & shoulders” above everyone else! 😉 Speaking of which, my Stepson is 6’ 4” & was trying to buy a classic MGB a Month or two ago, but was finding it too tight a squeeze to fit his knees under the Steering Wheel... @@the5thmusketeer215 Thank you for the kind words. The win was very unexpected...! The best bet when you're tall in an MGB is to make sure the seat is pretty much on the floor, and then the key one is to go for a slightly smaller steering wheel. Too small and it's a nightmare to turn at low speeds, but you don't want one of those huge ones some of them have!

@@redbarchetta8782 Sort of a double entendre there. That way its funnier more than offensive while expressing both thoughts that came to my mind. Spent many disappointing days as a kid waiting for Dad to get his '64 running so we could go for a ride. Usually because the exhaust ripped off the weekend prior. The car was only 6 or 7yo then. Older than I was so I always gave it some slack.

Exactly. When he was in the front row on the second start I just thought that's not right.

Goodwood has stricter rules about overtaking - gentleman’s racing. Maybe something to do with that?

@@danielpeters9125 Stirling Moss was asked whether Goodwood was just "gentlemen racing" once and he replied: "Absolutely not, because I am not a gentleman!" There is no quarter given!

We had it for the Spa Six Hours so that we could tell which car was ours when it went past the pits in the dark!

To be fair David, I only dropped to 10th rather than 20th! It was classed as a start line accident so the race had to be restarted. I’ve had enough bad luck in my career to take this one without any bad feelings!

Nice try. Just because whatever incidents and crashes happened in the race, doesn't mean the drivers were clowns... If any, judging by how you think of them, they were better drivers than you...

What absolute bullshit. Even F1 drivers get the start wrong. Lando at Monza for example.
