Yes I was looking forward to that. The theme of the video kind of became...you can't go there anymore like you could at one time. Too bad most of those hydro cut trails are private property now too. You could make it all the way from Pakenham to Calabogie years ago. I guess people bought up chunks of land and/or had enough of people being idiots and finally blocked them off and put signs up. There was only one way to find out. We tried! The same thing happened to another ghost town called Balaclava just north of Dacre. Been wanting to check that out but is private now as well👎.
Looks like a nice ride - do you need to have any 'membership' to be in that area? Just across the border in NY - once the craziness clears - looking for new places to make it worth a trip.
For most trails there are trail passes required yes. But you can get weekend and week passes etc. All my videos combined are only like .0001% of the trails in the area. It can get pretty rough and technical. I'm only a couple hours north of the border. So you won't have to go very far to hit endless trails of all types. Lot of New York residents own cottages and property in my area. If you ever head this way hit me up. We can go out for days and barely scratch the surface. I will have a few more vids up in the next few weeks of one of the best areas around👍.
Just got an atv, we have a trailer on whitelake and have been looking for trails. E erything I've found has been private so far!! Love to know if you know any of that area, calabogie is not far from me and people say there is a ton of trails there for riding. Just need to find them I guess haha
Calabogie has LOTS of trails. I suggest down loading the QuadOn app onto your phone or tablet. It's about $5/year and has all of the OFATV trails. Also you could go to the QuadOn website and also thetrail.ca and see all of the OFATV and EOTA trails. And onother good suggestion if you have Facebook, is join the "Places to ATV/UTV Ontario group 👍. But don't worry, you are absolutely surrounded in trails!
@@SideX_Each awesome thanks!! I'll definitely do that! If your looking for another person to tag along on the rides, let me know! Loved to meet some riders and ride along. I'm still breaking in the new bike, got about 10 more hrs and the belt should be I good standing. 👍
@@benehh We are in Calabogie quite often. I live in Sharbot Lake about an hour south of Calabogie down the K&P trail👍. Feel free to add Side X Each on Facebook if you have an account...
All flat railbed on the rest of the trip. So not epic excitement for most people. But I'm glad we have them to connect all the towns. I appreciate them and use them with no complaints. Part 2 should be up next Sunday👍.
I just remembered you are not a fan of Perth to Sharbot Lake due to stop signs. Well you would hate Calabogie to Pakenham or Smiths Falls. Probobly near 100 gates and 100 stop signs haha. Maybe more... Pretty hard to make an interesting video...
Can I get your opinion on the maverick sport. I am trying to decide between that and the maverick x3. Just wondering about power and comfort. I feel like the sport is comfort and visibility and the x3 is suspension and power.
Sorry for the super late reply haha. The Sport is a softer ride and better on trails yes. But the X3 definitely smokes the shit out of the Sport in the power department haha. Visibility on the X3 is definitely not ideal. The Sport is a better overall machine as far as versatility with better cargo capacity. And definitely has more than adequate power for trails. I've been meaning to do a comparison video between the two. Just havnt had time this past year unfortunately 👎.
