This is so true. I tell people about their thumb placement all time. Thanks for what you guys are doing for the sport.

Being and old dude and my dad being a truck driver as I grew up, the first thing I drove was a 1959 White truck and trailer. Standard steering. He taught me to keep my thumbs out because of possibility of having them broken by the wheel snapping back. 10 years in the Army driving deuce and a halves will also teach you that.

These people need to keep off our trails. First "tip".

Professional race drivers even go so far as to cross their hands on their chest when a strong front impact is coming (a whole different subject) but keeping the thumbs clear is VERY important!

I’ve jammed my thumb and wrist on my atv, can’t imagine having a steering wheel spinning on me. Great video tip.

I had no idea. Do mostly slow (under 15 mph) technical riding in muddy woods. This never occurred to me. Can Am Defender has pretty awesome power steering but there are times when a rut or log grabs those front wheels and yanks HARD. Thank you!

It’s not just UTV’s. Got some really bad power steering feedback while driving a Cat 50 ton mine truck off road, very close to breaking my thumb. Contaminated power steering fluid was the cause I believe.

The deal is that a lot of us appear in the Pacific Northwest northwest drive the mountain trails We don't go any faster than 5 miles an hour so hand placement isn't really an issue I really wish there were guys like you that put out lots of videos that did them for for terrain's like what we deal with up here in the Pacific Northwest
