There payments and all other build up retirement benefits should not be a punishment on itself. They have rights to. But as everyone they should be held accountable an get accordingly punishment. I think the only reason why the police and political system is this defensive to there on is because of this fact. They are afraid that it could be themselves one day. The council has no interest in taking action. The opening "prayer" was a blatant statement to intimidate the attendees with its statement to drive out the anger from their hearts etc. Third speaker was right when she said the council was sitting there just wanting the speakers to finish and go away.

@@Sheracross im guessing you didn't see the videos of parents being treated like shit outside the school while gunshots were still going off...those shots weren't being made by the cops who stood there for over an hour it was the shooter...classroom wasn't breached to well over 60 mins...so no I'm not gonna stop with my opinion on it, innocent children and teachers who only wanted the best for them died that day over some bs...the parents deserve way better than the half ass response and half ass answers they've received so far....my opinion is my opinion!

Yes I had to do that once when I found out in California that registered sex offender was teaching and helping students in the room next door to mine. This is back when Megan's Law first came out. I got together a giant community meeting with the Press there, and superintendent addressing me and other people as well of course. He kept trying to cut me off while I was talking and I wouldn't let him and I was on the news just like like some of these folks, and the principal was fired and a law for signing and check-ins with IDs was put into place. And that was before all the mass shooting happenings back in 2003. What those officers every single one of them did is a complete offense to everyone in the United States. If this could happen there it can happen anywhere and it's going to happen again and again and again because no one seems to want to do anything.

Parents should vote in a new city council and a new mayor. Then hire a whole new police force. Cops failed "to protect" the public. The cheif put his officers lives before the children and teachers. That's all that happen.
Okay now that I finally watched it all I see that they passed it but they better deliver. The emotion expressed by the mayor through all his meetings feels genuine. Something has to change. I'm so glad my son is 18 years old and doing his education online still and not in a classroom. I pray for all the parents they have to send their kids back into a school. All information is that (1) he acted poorly, did not lead, and made bad decisions, (2) did not follow the active shooter training he was provided - and that includes irrationally deciding that (a) it was a hostage situation even though he and others in the hallway heard shooting and (b) that he needed magic keys to enter the classrooms, and (3) has not cooperated FULLY with the investigation while avoiding media, the public and while remaining silent aside from messages crafted by and delivered by his lawyer

Chief Arrendondo was the scene Commander, that is protocol for all other agencies, Federal, State to concede control till he concedes. He did not and unless his actions or inactions are deemed illegal or insufficient, they will respect his authority to a fault, a tragic outcome like this, this must change...

I'm kinda appalled to hear any prayer at a city council to be honest. Imo, religion should stay out of any kind of government structure or event. Also I find it quite hypocritical. If prayers worked, the USA wouldn't be the country with the most school shootings.

Until police department policy is changed from what it currently is this wont change. It will keep occuring to one degree or another. People are under the assumption that police officers are here to protect them from harm. That isnt exactly the case. They are trained also to not place themselves at risk. Also, we keep getting turnover and inexperience.
