At 27:50 there is a notch on the driver side you should put your driver tire in and you basically run your passenger side as high as you can on the wall. If you're passenger side in the "V", you're gonna slide your door panels along the side of the trail like you saw lol.
That looked like a good preview of what I have in store . Uwharrie is definitely on my to do list. Looked like the camping was pretty nice too , even though the tent life didn't work out well for you. I look forward to seeing you out wheelin one of these days. As always , thanks for sharing the adventure!
Thank you for watching! Ya, uwharrie is a great spot. There's a ton of trail side camping opportunities. I've been through the whole park and the front side of Daniel, where the red fj broke, is the only trail I haven't run personally. It's got lots of trails of all different levels. Pro tip, stay out of the giant mud hole. It's really deep. 😉
@@edwhite4992 you picked an awesome place to start. URE has trails at every level so you can learn as you go, and there's enough people there that if you're alone and get into trouble, it won't be long before someone comes along that can help. Lots of camping, good sights... We like URE!
@@EverymanOverland it definitely was the perfect local for a first experience. I’ll be going back for sure. The people that were there were very helpful and friendly too!
If you're new, stay off the trails that start with a d. But go have an awesome time. There's trails for all experience levels, and on the weekends there's always a ton of people, so if you need help there's likely someone going to come along and find you in fairly short order.
I hate that I didn't make it out there..You guys had a blast.. I'll be there next weekend to give the Gladiator another run..It did great last time..Great video Chris
Thank you! You just gotta put the time in on the editing and capture a ton of footage. I'm no magician! Most trips I come home with 250 to 300 gb of footage. I shoot in 5.3k, which is overkill but it allows me to zoom in more on the footage and have it look ok. It's just about practice and learning the editing software. Did you go out to the tank traps last weekend?
No I don't I got it saved on onx 300gb dang I think I only get 100 only have a gopro 9 an a cannon g7x as well as a drone just dropped a box canyon run today
@@that4runnerguy364 I have a pair of go pro 10s, very little difference from the 9. I have the media mod on 1 and the lens mod on the other, but my first probably 35 videos were shot with my phone. It was working fine, the quality was good, but it kept stopping the recording when I turned the truck on and the stereo attached to the Bluetooth. I lost a lot of shots, so I switched to go pros. It's taken some getting used to. I dont have a drone, I'm not sure I think it's right for my channel. I really like pepole to feel like they were there, in the action when they watch my videos, and I feel like the drone shots tend to take people out of that. Drone shots are cool, I just gotta figure out how to implement them and make it feel the way I want them to. I'll check out your box canyon video! I never ran that one, I don't think.
Ya he told me. In the last 2 weeks myself and 2 of my friends have all been spotted on the trail by fans... Crazy. Thank you for watching! We will try to live up to our celebrity status and maybe trash a hotel room one of these days! 😂
I'll be sure to let her know! 😂. Have an awesome time at URE! I'm jealous, I'll likely be replacing smashed up skid plates and front diff seals next weekend. Your plan sounds way better...
Another great video. Dickey Bell looks like a lot of fun. Which trail was that in the middle of the video with the nice rock ledge to go up that the GX470 went up?
The inner tie rod bent to a 90 degree angle. We couldn't find a replacement at any parts stores within a 2 hour drive, so we managed to bend the original one back to "straight". Wasn't perfect, but it got him home. I carry a spare tie rod with me but the early and later FJ's had different racks and tie rods, so I couldn't help him with that.
An ant was trudging thru the jungle one day when he heard an elephant roar. He followed the roar and found an elephant stuck in a big hole. He went and got his heavy duty off road vehicle. threw the elephant a rope and pulled him right out of there. The elephant was thankful and said, thanks littlre fella, if there's anything I can ever do for you i will return the favor,. About two weeks later, the elephant heard a little faint, help me help me. The elephant went to that same hole and and sure enough the little ant was stuck in it, so he stretched out over the whole and dropped his big member down and the ant climbed right out...The Moral of the story is: If you have a big member, you don't need an heavy duty off road vehicle
