I watched your video today about the existence of security inspection equipment. According to my search, violent people carried explosives to carry out suicide attacks in downtown areas/vegetable markets 15 years ago. The local government conducts inspections of metal & explosive items to ensure that tourists and locals I think it is a good method for personal safety. I like where the flight will be at 10 o'clock in the morning tomorrow.@@Alan_and_Shannon
Xinjiang is seperated in 2 unique part. South Xinjiang and North Xinjiang. Most foreigner go to North Xinjiang , but the South Xinjiang is more RAW. And what you saw in this video located in South Xinjiang.

Yes, there's much more than shawarmas after all! 😂 Lamb lamb lamb, all day, every day! Also, that coffee looks incredible. Oh man, I just got to the end and it's shawarma #23!!! 😅😅😅
@@AJ-iu6nw Do you have any conscience? You see these people living free and happy lives and you'd rather support the groups that force them to live under sharia law? I have family in Xinjiang and their quality of life if FAR higher than muslims anywhere in the west.
Alan and Shannon, you guys are so sweet. Are you two from Glasgow? Gee, Alan reminds me of a child I taught to many decades ago at a place called Mulberry Bush, in Glasgow.... you guys are adorable.
Love the piece. The food you enjoyed first is the probably the most famous Xinjiang dish. It’s called 手扒饭,could be loosely translated as hand pulled lamp rice. The food in Xinjiang relies on species rather than cooking techniques. So most food cooked in simple way. We do this dish in the States many times because it’s easy to make for parties and exotic to most people. Creating an impression. You mix the lamb chunks with cumin and light sauté them. Enough cumin is the key. Put diced onion, carrots, raisins, rice and mix with the lamp. Water to rice 2:1, some salt, then cover and simmer. It usually takes 15 minutes. Done. By the tradition, you need to use your hand to eat this dish. That is what the name of the dish comes from. Of course no one do that nowadays. This dish actually is for the lazy people.
Don't know if you're in China much longer, but if you're ever in Fujian let me know! I'll be happy to show you two around. There's no pubs, which as an Irishman saddens me deeply, but the food is pretty good
Why do some western RU-vidrs always have some cunning clown 🤡 personality? ? Look at yourself more often!! Lower the video bit rate a little bit! A little darker! More yin and yang filters!!

Lol, you reminded me, but I hadn't noticed camel in Xinjiang during my last visit there few years ago. I know there's camel riding tourist attraction in cities like Dunhuang, but in Xinjiang, we just drove across the Taklamakan desert, it's definitely an experience. 🙂
When Shannon was going on about the different cuts of lamb on the bone and how much she enjoyed it my first thought was "I wonder if they shop at Morrisons". The reason being my local Morrisons has recently started selling assorted lamb bones for dirt cheap compared to other cuts of tha animal. My jaw nearly hit the floor when minutes later you guys mentioned that Morrisons is your local supermarket 😂.You guys can now recreate these dishes once you guys get back to Scotland.

I am in Canada and I have been hearing that Chinese economy is collapsing. I really don't know what's going on. Watching your videos I become more confused: these news sound reasonable but your videos show opposite scene.
Always remember rumours, lies n propaganda r carried by haters, spread by fools n accepted by idiots especially from US government n western media n all those China haters
Good to see your vlog. I had to go Kashgar last year. As my opinion you should make the chance to tour countryside out of the Kashgar City where have awesome natural ecology tours to waiting you. White sand lake, Snow mountains, deserts, China west pole....

1:00 Bro it's Palaav or Pulao (in Pakistan). In Pakistan they'd serve you spinach if you'd ask for Palak 😊 2:05 spot on, they're called Kabuli or Uzbek "Pulao" or "Palaav" but people call it Kabuli rice for convenience. Edit : U can eat the best Kabuli Pulao in Peshawar, Pakistan (same people as Afghans) 13:45 that's hot salt which south Asians use to cook corns and chickpeas
Can you imagine my saliva flowing directly from a height of 1.7 meters onto my shoes...When I'm watching, i think, how dare you do this to us...every time, you eating, we watching, you eating, we watching, we drooling..

You can try the other town like Hotan or Kargilik which has high Uyghur population. Would love to see you talking to the locals to see how happy they are there as compared to what the media says.
My daughter read the menu. You were eating a goose egg. The biggest one was obviously an ostrich egg. They also sold standard chicken eggs, black-skinned chicken eggs, and pigeon eggs.
I've tasted Afghan "Palau". It's similar to what you ate. They put aromatic spices, raisins .etc. in the rice with big chunks of meat. Absolutely delicious !
I believe in Xinjiang they call that "Polo", but the main difference I think it's the rice type. In Afghanistan it's the long & dry rice, it could draw more flavor from the meat. In China it's the short round rice which has more protein & moist so it's may taste different,
From the price list, it seems that you are eating goose eggs. Ostrich eggs are more than 5 times larger than goose eggs. I heard that they taste fishy, and most people don't like them.
Yeah "Hot drinks in hot weather makes you cooler" means hot drinks making you sweat and the sweat on your skin cools you down. You're probably right about coffee increasing your heart rate and unable to cool you down.
@@King-hn9bv @22:52 The board shows " Pheasant eggs, black chicken eggs, goose eggs, pigeon eggs, and ostrich eggs" From the size it looked like an ostrich egg! Even Alan cannot verify as the answer from the lady was "father-in-law?"🤣
Never mind. just a few people, not all, could eat the whole goat head🤣As for me, the biggest adventure ive done is to eat a goat brain. (it's delicious indeed
Very interesting, glad to see you're trying out different dishes. I'd do the same. I gotta put Kashgar on my list. I hope it's more sunshine and less humidity. @32:19, Being white Western is instant fame in China. That goes for being African/and black Western too.
Salty eggs are suppsed to be eaten with lots of rice so that a tiny bit can help you eat a big chunk of rice (best with porridge), very economic to get filled up.
