This week we’re off to the legendary salt flats of Uyuni! This remote location is the most extreme altitude we’ve been in yet, and it wins us over with it’s stunning landscape.
We explore, see flamingos and sleep in a salt hotel! What an adventure!

Hello from Australia. Very well done video, there is so much to see when going through this part of Bolivia. Glad you saw Uyuni town, the Train Graveyard and of course the Salt Flats. That is the most wonderous place on earth, sunset skies of pink, purple, orange and yellow. Your relaxed narration style really adds to the presentation. You have a new subscriber, looking forward to watching your South American run now.

@ 11:07 that is a master piece of a photo. Personally, I believe the lady has natural look to be in a movie, her voice pitch, sexy walk, the jump and out look on life and appreciation for Bolivian landscape. Hollywood producers give her a contract for a movie.

Facts about Uyuni: Neil Armstrong visited this site. It spread out over a whopping 4,086 square miles about the same size of Jersey City or Zurich. Uyuni holds the largest Lithium deposit in the world.

Thank you so much Karen! Yeah, the landscape was incredible...and the 360 "transition" was actually shot by our guide using an iPhone! The just turned the phone in his hand while we walked...he knew all the tricks!

More Llama's than humans? Sounds like my kind of place haha. The train graveyard looks cool, but shame it's so busy! Would be a great place for photos if it wasn't. It's cool to see different sides to the flats that I didnt know about before. The cactus island looks really cool. Loved that 360 shot! The salt hotel looks so beautiful. Rabaroo haha!

This is definitely a bucket list destination for us! I have actually been watching quite a few vlogs on the flats lately and your video is probably the best I've seen so far.. Makes me want to go sooner rather than later! Your tour looked amazing so we will definitely look up your tour guide if we ever make it out there! Thanks for sharing! c/t

Amazing. The intro of the video is perfection! We really enjoyed it. How much was it to hire the guide? He seems like the perfect guide for the place. What camera equipment are you using? The video is just perfect!

Beautifully shot with loads of great info! Friends of ours have just come back but they don't vlog and photos just don't seem to do this place justice. Thank you so much for sharing

Thanks for watching (and the kind words!). There are some amazing photos made here, but I think video does a much better job of capturing the essence of this place!

WOW. Right from the start that BEAUTIFUL scene at the start. Such cinematic footage - I especially love at 7:46 with the texture of stones (?) on the ground since I only ever seen it as a smooth surface. Awww, those Rabaroos are so cute 🐰 When you say mummies in the ruined village, are they like just around to be accidentally stumbled on? 😨
@TheNearAndAway
@TheNearAndAway 4 года назад
In the village there were all these "tombs", for lack of a better word, where families would place their loved ones. Most of them were closed up, but there were a couple that were open, and you could actually see the remains! 😬Our guide said is was fine to take photos, etc...but we really didn't feel comfortable doing that. Thanks for watching!

@@TheNearAndAway Yikes. That sounds freaky, but at the same time, I also think many 'civilisations' would be better off mentally if they made peace with the concept of death. In Indonesia there's a place they take the corpses out once a year and dress them up and parade them around! 🙃

Great video guys! I (Alex) visited Bolivia back in 2008 and found it to be one of the most interesting countries in South America. I was surprised to see so many people at the train grave yard and the Cactus Island (forgot the name!). It was completely empty back in 2008 bar a few other cars. Nonetheless, it still looks like an incredible place, really unique! By the way we noticed that the speech volume was quite up and down and the narration was quite a bit louder than the video clip speeches. Maybe just try to check through the sound levels before exporting. Loved the edit, great pans and cinematic shots! By the way, what camera do you use? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for watching! Hmmm...I check all the audio to make sure they're at the same levels, but I wonder since the voiceover is using a better mic that it needs to be reduced a bit more to blend with the on camera mics. Thanks for the feedback! Also, we shoot with the Panasonic GH5 (and some GoPro 7).

@TheNearAndAway
@TheNearAndAway 2 года назад
Yeah, there’s so time spent away from facilities, but there were some toilets at the cactus island, and a few other spots along the way…so we didn’t have too much trouble (as I remember). Thanks for watching! 👍🏻
