Es momento de realizar un festival Hispano en Zamboanga, y de esta manera recibir a todos los hispanos del mundo, estoy seguro de que seria un éxito. Viva las Filipinas.

Zamboanga Hermosa (pronuncia como /Zam-bo-wang-ga Er-mo-sa/)

As a native of Zamboanga and a genuine Chavacano speaker, we never say "H"ermosa. It's always "E"rmosa. I don't know who taught these singers but no one pronounces the "h" in the city. The city has many immigrants from other places and I have a feeling that the music teacher's background isn't pure Chavacano. I've heard Bisaya people speak Chavacano and say the word "Hasta" with an "h". Real Chavacanos say, "asta" with a silent "h". We don't say "hacer" with an "h". It's always, "acer" with a silent "h". You criticize too much.

They pronounced the ''ci'' combination well like in Iberian/European or Spain's Spanish, but they mispronounced the ''h'' for it should be silent, and they mispronounced the ''ll'' and the ''j'' and just kept them all in Philippine Spanish pronunciation. If you'll keep the ''ll'' and the ''j'' in Philippine Spanish accent or pronunciation, then you shouldn't pronounce the ''ci'' combination in Iberian or European Spanish accent or pronunciation too. You should be consistent in what accent or way of pronunciation of Spanish you should use and follow. The hymn and song ''Zamboanga Hermosa'' is written in Philippine Spanish, so better pronunce the words in the song or hymn all in Philippine Spanish pronunciation or accent. Also, don't forget that in Spanish, all ''h'' are silent and shouldn't be pronounced, and all ''h'' in Chavacano words of Spanish origin or entered Chavacano via Spanish are silent and shouldn't be pronounced as well. Know more about our city's official and main native language, about the hymn or the song, about Spanish, and about how things should be said and pronounced. Thanks. Muchisimas gracias a ustedes todos.

The reason for that might be because there's no standardized form. Chavacano is also free of not pronouncing everything like the Spanish since it's a creole language. Anyways, I hope it would be standardized one day and that its speakers would rise. I love Zamboanga❤️

@@jabes3615 This song or hymn isn't in Chavacano. This doesn't follow the Chavacano sentence structure, grammar, and formation of verb tenses. There is no connection between Chavacano having or not having a standardized and official orthography, pronunciation rules, and the like with this song or hymn. This song or hymn is written in Philippine Spanish dialect of the worldwide Spanish language. So, the Philippine Spanish pronunciation must be followed like how Filipinos back then speak and pronounce their Spanish and of how modern Filipino Spanish speakers and Filipino learners of Spanish would pronounce these words nowadays. Our Philippine Spanish dialect sounds closer to Mexican Spanish dialect or Andalusian Spanish dialect than Castillan Spanish dialect and other Spanish dialects in the world. So, the "h" in Spanish words are still silent, and we don't pronounce the "c" or "z" with an "e" or "i" with a lisp like the Castillan people of Spain, the standard Spanish dialect of Spain, and most of the people of Spain who learned and get to used to their standard dialect.

@@jabes3615 Btw. We do have now an official grammar rule book, official orthography book, and also an official dictionary for our Chavacano language. It was released slowly back then starting 2012 to be used as a resource and basis of teaching the Chavacano language in our city and other neighboring Chavacano-speaking places as a separate language subject and as a medium of instruction for the other subjects in Kindergarten to Grade 3 for the Department of Education's Mother Tongue Multilingual Education Program of the new and enhanced K-12 Curriculum. So, that also means we do now have at least an official and more unified grammar, orthography and spelling, and dictionary book that we can all refer to. Our language is not anymore just an oral language without regulations or rules and free to be written, used, spelled, and pronounced as anything we individually like, for it is now getting more and more standardized as years go on, and with these published resources as the starting point or primary resource basis for now. Most private and public elementary schools in our city now (those schools that uses and teaches Chavacano language, foe other schools uses the Tausug language), especially those in nursery schools, daycare centers, kindergartens, and primary schools (Grades 1-3), do follow the official references and studies made and produced by our LGU with the Schools Division of Zamboanga City with the help of our local universities and colleges, and other people. It's just the local mass media, press, and broadcasting institutions, and other institutions who use the Chavacano language that don't yet refer to these resources that much or at all. The resources are based on researches, studies, case studies, observations, and consultations, as well as meetings with the media, press, schools, universities, colleges, and also with writers, teachers, professors, language experts, poets, community elders, language users and enthusiasts, language activists, students, and linguists of our city. It is a project of the Office of the City Culture and the Arts that deals with our city's history, heritage, culture, festivals, traditions, customs, languages, and the various arts and design forms.

The ''h'' should be silent and the ''r'' should be rolled or thrilled and not just a tap or a slide like in the American English accent or pronunciation. You don't need to pronounce the ''ci'' combination in Iberian or European Spanish accent, for the song or hymn is written in Philippine Spanish and not Iberian or European Spanish. If you all decided to sing the song or hymn in Iberian or European Spanish accent, then better pronounce your ''h'', ''ll", "j", and "r" in all Iberian or European Spanish accent. Be consistent with your accent throughout the song or hymn.
