That's actually a good take: -Spy x family doesn't even advance in the main mission. -Two seasons just to have the spy have a first encounter with his main objective. -Anya gets a stella once at the start to never again be even close to get one. -Yor's main arc is actually finished from the beginning, so we have to see how she gets a new one, one that isn't even actually taken in two seasons. You could say it got hinted at best. If only they did adapt Loid's past in second season we would have at least some character development. Now Usaki-chan is just a mid tier rom-com that's following the new trend of actually portraying when the main characters get together and follow their relationship to some extent.
The problem with your arguement is the difference between the two shows endgame. The endgame of spy family is not, loid and yor getting together. It's the mission failing and war breaking out. The endgame is uzaki is very much, will they won't they? Since uzaki depends on that it has to move their relationship forward more than in spy family. Because that's what matters in the end. Unlike I'm spy family
As a fan of Uzaki-chan, there’s two particular reasons why I love the show so much: the storytelling and the humor. I remember checking it out after the “controversy” from a few years ago and thoroughly enjoying it. It’s probably my favorite slice of life next to Komi-san. Y’all thought I was gonna make an oppai joke, didn’t ya lmao.
Definitely a hot take, uzaki-chan emphasises the comedy, romance and awkwardness but I don't think it is better overall then spy family. Spy family has more going for it, Uzaki-chan is treading the line of every annoying sitcom, dragggging out the 'will they, won't they?' situation, Uzaki-chan could be like Friends or big bang theory, as soon as penny and Leonard or Ross and Rachel get together all the entertaining tension disappears and it gets depressing cause now you need to artificially break them up to MAKE tension, it's no longer organic. Spy Family may be moving at a snails pace story wise but IMO so is uzaki-chan, we only care about their romance in that uzaki and they are no further along then what they were in ep1 season 1
You say that, but knowing where season 3 of Uzaki-chan is gonna start from the manda and if they keep the current pace where it should end... "control. we have ignition"
There’s so many choices for different tastes, no one should be shamed for enjoying something unpopular. However, I might have those thoughts about “Reincarnated as a Vending Machine” which encouraged me to give up on anime I wasn’t enjoying sooner. I did enjoy Uzaki-Chan more than Spy Family, though.
Uzaki chan is so much fun because the will they won't they goes somewhere. It's painful to the point where it's enjoyable and it respects the time of the audience. I personally enjoyed it more than Spy x Family. My uzaki chan figure on my work desk doesn't change my opinion
