These guys are fuckin' under rated. Mind blowing! Why aren't these guys up there with all the jazz fusion greats like Metheny, Holsworth or any other legendary fusion bands??? WTF!
Another legendary trio from Canada beside Rush! I was there when they played in Jakarta, Indonesia, 1990! As a high school student, I went there with some friends, all the way from Surabaya, another metropolitan city of Indonesia about 900 km away from Jakarta. As a musician, and a jazz-rock vocalist myself, some of them were my fellow Down Beat the Band (I was their vocalist), of whom most of them changed name into DEWA 19, later a very famous alternative pop rock band in Indonesia and the neighboring countries. Back then, UZEB was so popular among the fusion, jazz rock enthusiasts. They taught us how to play music. A very big inspiration! We idolize them, and Casiopea, Mezzofeorte, Yellow Jackets, Spyrogyra, Path Metheny-Lyle Mays and their bands, all of The GRP world-class musicians, Chick Corea Electric Band & Acoustic Band, Jean-luc Ponti, Stephane Grapelli, Return To Forever, Weather Report, and so on. Uzeb played at the Ancol bay area of Jakarta. Open-air. Night time. A very big crowd came! We saw top jazz musicians of Indonesia within the crowd. No chairs. All didn't mind. And what a night!? We were so amazed by their musical techniques, their MIDI gears, the compositions. Oh wow?! Just: wow!
Nonton uzebnya di drive in ancol ya brur....barisan paling depan lagi. Kalo iya dulu berarti kita sebelahan..soalnya rombongan sebelah gw emang anak anak dari Surabaya..
@@roykartaatmaja8552 Benar. Tajam sekali ingatanmu? 😊
That bass solo @12:41-15:19 has got to be one of the best ever! So well crafted with subtle melodic statements to start it out and a continued build in intensity and emotion. Combined with flawless intonation, perfect time and that nasty phrase @ 15:00:-15:03 ! Wow..even after 30yrs..it's still such a badass solo..this is what all bass players should be striving for when they take a solo, musical and with depth..I've been such a huge Caron fan since 1st seeing UZEB in '81 at Ontario Place in Toronto..thanks guys for the near life long enjoyment of wonderful music..!
I was at this last concert 25 years ago. I have tickets in the same seats to see them this week June 29! Most excited I have ever been for anything ever!!! UZEB is my favorite group in the world. Jack from Scotland.
I've heard UZEB first time in 1992.Friend of mine brought me a tape of this very concert.I made a copy immediatily. After a while the tape disappeared mysteriously. But the tunes were saved in my head because I was amazed with the way they play.Love UZEB.
I saw these guys in Old Montreal in early 1991. It was a fantastic gig, everyone in the place were absolute fans of this band. I didn't realize until now they had gone their separate ways that year as well. Looks like I heard them just in time.
Semplicemente perfetto.
As a visual live show check out liquid tension experiment Live in LA 3 members of Dreamtheater and Tony Levin on stick killer fusion at its best love instrumental when the water breaks
@@by-torandthesnowdog1647 I'll be honest with you, I`m not the biggest fan of dream theatre thought... But thanks for the recommendation! My visual eyegasm is witouth a doubt Meshuggah concerts live! :)
D'autres dates s'ajouteront progressivement" www.lapresse.ca/arts/musique/201612/15/01-5051639-uzeb-de-retour.php
oh ya..!! since 1978..they make (made) guitars as well, Cusson play's a white one (@10:56)..for a long time now though, George is mostly only making basses..
+Kamakiri Sassorichan ....... they had a keyboard player in their early years. He left and they remained a trio. The keys stuff is all MIDI. All 3 of them use MIDI capable instruments.
Good one but I think Steve Morse plays with more distortion? I can actually hear this guitarists notes? And you and I probably had all of the dregs albums? I only saw steve Morse live three times
