I agree wholeheartedly. I don't speak Finnish but I know this song word for word now! I had the tune stuck in my head so I just had to learn the lyrics! This was the first Finnish I learnt and I now many other Finnish songs. I originally clicked on the thumbnail back in 2016 simply because one of the singers (Susan Aho, the blonde haired lady on the right) looks exactly like one of my friends.

I was honestly lucky to have ever loved a Finn. She left me with an admiration for much of Finnish culture, and now to hear what sounds like their folk music? It sounds so raw and pagan. Magical and fantastical. That relationship didn't turn out so well, even as a friendship afterward, but man...Despite that, I don't think I'll ever forget Finland.

I'm a year late to your comment but what do you mean they could've been a part of that soundtrack? Where did you read that?
@weiwuxian3116
@weiwuxian3116 2 года назад
@@eezukkeli There's a really interesting RU-vidr called Sideways that did a video on the avatar soundtrack explaining what could have been and why the soundtrack is the way it is now. The original team wanted to create it's own language and sound system for the Na'vi combining basically every unique sound and theme from every culture. So that's what I mean they could have been a part of it, they were chosen to donate their sounds to the pool. Sadly the producer doubled back on his word and decided on a basic Western orchestra instead, thus the original soundtrack was rewritten over leaving what James Horner has produced now. Which don't get me wrong is still magical, it's just not the epic new form of music we could have had.

Never before have I experienced such level of vocal synchronization. Their actual waveform is phase correctly synced to a precision within 250 microsecconds (1/4000th second) which should be humanly and physically impossible (speed of sound 343m/s, 70cm sound travel = 2ms delay, yet they maintain a precision over 8 times that). Finns aren't Nordic; they're Finno-Ugric, related to Hungarians and Estonians, none of which are Nordic. Finns just happen to live next to Norwegians and Swedes, but they are not related to them, either linguistically or genetically. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finno-Ugric_peoples en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finno-Ugric_languages
