The Shasta is looking REALLY good! Lots of progress, and it's coming together well. You've definitely had your share of hassles with Internet service. It must be something to do with your location, because with the veritable fortune you're paying for service, you should NEVER have a failure. Down here, in a more suburban location, I rag about 90 bucks a month for phone and Internet, but it's a rock solid 50 up/50 down, and the last time it even blinked was sometime last spring, when it turned out they were doing some sort of maintenance and cut me off at 4 AM, in the middle of watching a RU-vid video. LOL

Well that's all going to change next week John. The new ISP said I will have no problems.

The trailer is looking real good Larry!

Looks great. Did you put tape under the fold over and the side skins? My 67 had it originally but I didn't know if I need to go back with it or will tape under the j rail be enough. I will be using the original skins.
@mobiltec
@mobiltec 7 лет назад
No I didn't do that. So far I haven't done it to a trailer. This one had the thicker skin and the tape would have made everything too thick under the J Rail.

+mobiltec Thanks. I think I'll go with your experience and just put it under the j rail. I also like your all 12 volt lighting. The round over heads, did they also come from vintage trailer parts?

Great work Larry. I want to become a paetreon but is it going to be worth it to me , because what I will be working on is a 34' MOTORHOME? HOW MUCH OF THIS CLASS GOING TO BENEFIT ME?
@mobiltec
@mobiltec 7 лет назад
Motorhomes have quite a few more problems to deal with than trailers. But if you forget about the chassis they are on they are built pretty much the same. And we always update our systems to current day technology. So I don't really know how much the classes will benefit you. You can always quit if they are not seeming beneficial...

I like the charging ports. I ordered the running lights, received them, they are flimsy metal? Do you install a smoke & carbon detector in the trailers you restore. Very nice Larry.
@mobiltec
@mobiltec 7 лет назад
NO I leave that up to the new owners. I use a smoke detector in my own campers though. Flimsy metal????

mobiltec on the marker lights, the ones I ordered, the metal part bent easy. Are those marker lights a heavier gauge metal?
@mobiltec

Mine seemed OK. They didn't seem to want to bend easy. Matter of fact, they were pretty thick and stiff. Got them from VTS.

Dumb question. I thought you said it had 50 Amp service at the breaker in the cabinet, but a 30 Amp plug-in connection. Why is the breaker bigger than the shore power inlet? I'm not even seeing an A/C unit.
@mobiltec
@mobiltec 7 лет назад
Because one, they don't make them any bigger and two I won't be using any more than 30 amps at a given time. There is a 20 amp breaker and a 30 amp breaker in there.There is no AC. I only have the 30 amp circuit for the fridge. I could have easily just put in two 15 amp breakers. But there are outlets and people may want to plug int juicers, mixers, radios, even an electric heater and the 30 amp will handle that. A house has easily 200 amps worth of crap to run if you had it all going at once but they only have 125 amp panel. Same reasoning. The 20 amp breaker handles the converter.

Hi Larry. I really like the paneling in the Shasta. Can't find it at Lowes or Home Depot. Where did you buy it? Thanks

The paneling was purchased at www.mantlecraft.com

OK I couldn't find the exact one we used so it may have been discontinued. Brittany Birch is supposedly very close. What we used was Almondine Elm Plywood Paneling 9-groove 4 x 8
