In this tutorial you will learn how add realistic atmospheric effects to your renderings using VRayEnvironmentFog. For this we will first discuss basic interior lighting and then add our Volumetric Fog in order to render some nice looking sunray or godray effects. We will use a basic V-Ray Sun and Sky system in to achieve some convincing result that you can easily reproduce in your own scenes.
I am using 3ds Max 2022 and V-Ray 5 Update 2 in this demo but you can also use the same techniques for older versions.
A similar workflow can also be used in other software such as Cinema4d, Maya, Blender and different kind of render engine such as Corona, Octane, Redshift, Arnold, Cycles, CyclesX, Eevee and countless others.
