for anyone using bear form, you have to use your Q move to destroy the gate. If you use your basic melee attack, it'll say an explosive is required. PS -- you can also jump off the back off the platform with the boss to avoid going back through the whole camp again.
Regarding clearing the camp during the day, you can actually clear the camp and are willing to hang around doing mostly nothing, there are some small shacks just before the last stairs up to the Bandit King. So feel free to clear the camp during the night and hide in the shack during the coming day, then you'll have all night to try to take him down. Note that rat form will be very hard to sneak in as there are rather large groups covering fairly small pathways. It may be possible but I tried once and it didn't seem feasible as I was easily spotted. Getting the crossbow, and the merciless crossbow may be a good idea as keeping your distance from him would be smart. His ranged attack is slow and his charge is much easier to dodge if you're not trying to close combat him.
thanks for the guide. This guy was pain in the tuckus for me. If anyone else is having difficulty what I did to beat him was basically craft every single gear you can, that brought me to level 39 pre-iron. You have 3 things to avoid in this fight, his single charge, triple charge, and earthquake thingy. Earthquake is easy enough to dodge, just pay attention and avoid. The king himself is not that fast, you can just run away from his normal attacks. Keep shooting chaos arrows at him from a distance. If the shields up, move out of the way or your own arrows will come back at you. Just use blood dodge and keep shooting chaos arrows at him. I didn't even have to blood aegis that much. Also go completely ham on him after his triple charge when he kneels down to take a break.
Feeling like I am at the point of giving up on this game as the grind is too much and the bosses are too strong which just makes the whole thing a frustrating experience for me personally. I don't want to have to face this same boss over and over and have to go through a long process every time to even get to them. These kinds of bosses are killing the fun for me and it is a shame as I really like other aspects of the game
Why don't you play on an official public server? It's a lot of fun and other players are chatting and grouping up to help with bosses all day long. It's also a lot of fun to watch your neighbor's castle grow over time. Really cool public interactions can happen. I accidentally left my door open last night and my neighbor was suddenly in my house. We hadn't met before so he checked out my castle and then we ran over to his place. Afterword, he returned to my castle, knocked on the door, and I went to open it to find him there with a guildmate, dropping off some building supplies for me as they saw me expanding my castle.
This dude gave me trouble, but I guess I didn't realize how some skills are strong AF, changed my 1 skill to that chaos volly and that's it, fight became insanely easy
Explosives will work on the boss as well. Keep your distance and strafe most of his attacks. Make sure you give yourself enough night to fight in. If you don't have chaos volley, I highly recommend getting that from Lydia because it helps a ton too
thanks for the help! btw it's not a "one-shot" if you are already low on health from other shots lol. a one-shot means your health bar was drained from full in one shot
@@Supayone many survival games don't require high skill to play. If enemy is too powerful then you can always pump up your level or gear, or at least build tons of potions. In this case you can't do anything higher than merciless copper, as he is key for iron weapons... I can't beat him without higher weapons and I can't have higher weapons without beating him... (((
Yeah, bear was tough. The trick is to keep your distance, pepper him with crossbow bolts, and lob the double chaos spell at him. It's more important to dodge his attacks than get a hit in.
