not many people know that a battery change on a V Rod has many steps and is a pain. SO, if you don't want to pay the dealer or mechanic to change your battery, maybe this video will help. Good luck.
there is a lot more to it than video shows, like resetting airbox lining up hoses, but ur right its not easy, but I did it, recommend checking out other videos, mean no disrespect.
None taken. I didn’t have the top of the air box due to the bigger TB and cams. MORE Airflow 😬😬. But i did originally go over everything but had no dang audio and this is what was left. I had to get rid of that bike anyway. I got a ZX14R. I do miss the Muscle a little.
Big dave...thanks for the video. Here’s a little bleep on me so you know where I’m coming from: bought first HD in 79. Used to turn wrenches at a dealer. Got tired of all the attitude and characters so quit the dealer. Needed a bike I can ride safely:ie: get away from cars. Test drove a VROD and fell in love. It’s the best bike HD ever made and it pisses me off all these sidewalk commandos never warmed up to them. They think we rode Harleys back in the day because they were tough. No, we were tough and HD was the last American motorcycle manufacturer. We ride American bikes; own American tools and wear American boots and jeans. Guys today think it has to look and sound a certain way for it to be a “real Harley.” Bullshit. If it’s made in America by HD it’s a Harley. Vrod is made in KC Missouri. Ok...my point? We need to keep these bikes going. Please make more videos. I’m going to make some as soon as I get one...maybe today. I’m looking at an 04. 02-04s had shifter issues. Should I pass and wait for an 05? I really want one TODAY!.
Bro the thing that irritates me the most is when people say the v Rod is a Porsche designed engine. NOT.. Roush designed the engine in the late ‘70s. BUT I will give credit where due. Porsche helped with turning the engine into the best one in the HD lineup. But I had to get rid of mine. It didn’t fit my riding style. It had 135WHP and was super fun but, my new bike has 190WHP 113TQ and way more comfortable to ride. I was constantly pushing the V to its limit. But honestly, I would get an ‘08 or above. That’s when they started putting the 1250cc engine in it. Check this video out. Did you test your charging system? Why did your battery die? They should last several years, at a minimum. You need to figure out what’s kill8ng your batteries. Keep us posted.
In this case, it was the original Harley battery and got 5 years out of it. 3 years is the most my friends and i have got out of these new batteries. PLUS, until that change i have never used a battery tender. But i also ride almost every weekend and maybe a day during the week. Charging system was fine. I did mention it but unfortunately there was no audio( forgot to turn on the mic)and cut it out.
🤣🤣.. yeah there isn’t much of a selection of “Royalty FREE” music to choose from. Not about to pay for a license to use good music because this channel is just a hobby.
