Pro Pilot explanation of FS2020 V speeds and definitions and performance numbers tailored to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Not only do I explain V speeds, I show what they are and how they are derived. The explanation is kept simple and easy to understand. I demonstrate Best angle of climb, best rate of climb, flap extension speeds, V1 (takeoff decision speed), Vr (rotation speed), V2 (takeoff safety speed), Vmc (minimum controllable airspeed), landing gear extension speeds (VLO) (VLE), and much more. FS2020 best angle of climb and best rate of climb comparison included.

This video was easy to understand accompanied by great visual and practical examples in the cockpit, so many thanks.

That's good to hear! These speeds are used nearly every flight but FS2020 failed to explain them.

Thanks great video. You gave a great sim demonstration on each of these speed.

That last landing would have made for a good carrier landing. Just slam the plane onto the deck with no flare. Too bad your not a carrier qualified plane so there went the landing gear. 😊

I agree. It was awful. I had the audio turned down hoping no one would notice.

Subscribing. Transitioning from helos to Beechjet 400A. Lots of unfamiliar terms, lol.

Best of luck to you in that transition! I still remember my first flight in the left seat of a corporate jet. It felt like I had tunnel vision with everything that was going on, the ride was extremely smooth compared to the constant vibrations of a twin-engine piston aircraft, and the sheer speed compared to what I was used to was insane. Overspeeding during the climb is easy to do as I also found out that first flight in a jet nearly 20 years ago. You will get used to it like everything else you've probably experienced so far in aviation.

Hey which plane had the head visor? And where did you get it from please?

Boeing 787 which is a stock aircraft with the premium deluxe version of MSFS.

I just havent understood the difference between Vx and Vy. It seems either way youre trying to climb as high as you can in the shortest amount if time/ distance. Isnt it the same. Granted if you dont have to worry about getting over something you can go at the Vy speed but in the end they sound the same to me ..... Get up as high as you can in the shortest amount of distance no?

Vx gets an airplane higher in a shorter distance which is used to clear obstacles. Vy gets the airplane to a higher altitude in less time when obstacles are not a concern.

I didnt understand va,can you explain it to me?
@thecorporatepilotdad
@thecorporatepilotdad Год назад
Maneuvering speed. At or below that speed, if full elevator is used, the airplane will stall before structural damage can occur. Above that speed, using full elevator authority and the airplane will have structural damage before a stall occurs. Maneuvers like steep turns are performed without exceeding Va.

Why does it sound like a fast car on the ground lol
@thecorporatepilotdad
@thecorporatepilotdad 3 года назад
In some sections of video the speed increased to save time. Sometimes the airplane sounds like a giant mosquito when the film is sped up so I usually mute the sound now during those times.
