We have a saying here in the states.... LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES! ! ! .... so true. I was about to change lanes because I saw nothing in my mirrors.. when out of nowhere came the roar of a motorcycle without baffles. ... I always look twice for motorcyclists but this one was in my blind spot. His pipes saved his life and my freedom...! ....Love your bike. Ill have one soon. Ride safe!
JasonWelchMusic , , , Yes, but motorcycle riders should not pull up on people's blind spots, if anything the biker wasn't paying enough attention, not you.
i saw a bunch of those forward control extensions and pegs like yours. sounds like a good thing to have for a tall guy on long trips...love the look of your bike too and thanks for the info:)
Hey John i just had a look, nice vids mate.. yeah without a doubt go for V&H short shots they look and sound great on the 650.. enjoy your bike and ride safe.
I've just bought a 2012 xvs650 custom, pick it up in a couple of days :D It's my first bike aswell, can't wait to get riding. Looking at the same v&h setup in a few months too. Yours sounds brilliant.
I've just bought the same bike recently. My first bike too. I have a couple of short ride vids on my channel. Not modded, yet, but I was thinking of getting a V and H setup.
I have the V&H short shots on my bobbed-out XVS650 Custom. Way over-the-top deafening for anything but a very short ride. You're guaranteed to come back with your ears ringing. Due to consumer demand, the company sells inserts that will bring the db's down a bit, and I highly recommend them.
Thanks for the review, saved me going out to see a bike I wouldn't buy. I don't mind a rumble when you crack the throttle, but highway noise like there's a jackhammer in my helmet is no good.
Did you have to re-jet your carburetors with the new pipes. It seems that I have heard that when you install these kind of exhaust pipes the fuel/air mix tends to make the engine run lean on the fuel burn.
I am going to install these on my 2003 v star 650… did you have to do any adjustments after installing these pipes? No difference in speed? I had my upper muffler fall off and I can only hit about 30 right now, I’m hoping even though these pipes are a little short that it’ll still ride. I’m new to riding and this is my first time making any sort of modifications myself.
I have one of these bikes and I'm 6.5. Mine has floor boards and on long trip I do get a little cramped but added highway pegs.. now its great.. hope this helps.. my bike is on my page.. for sale : )
Hi Mack. Nice Custom. I own a Classic Silverado XVS65. Love my ride. I subbed in, so keep me entertained, dude. Lol. Just kidding, bro. Ride safe and peace.
I have the cobra drag pipes and they dont have that deep harley sound but damn they are loud and everyone hates riding behind me, hell cars will pass me cause they are to loud for them, they cant hear their music!!!!!!!!!!
Adam White will it wake the neighbours... dont want to but beats any alarm clock tho. on another note how many L platers actually ride thes bikes on LAMS. in the process of trying to make a decision, dl license held 22yrs . lams 3 months shit protocol i reckon
Much toooooooo loud. They could hear that on Mars so if loud pipes save lives at least the Mars rover will stay out of your way. Go back to standard pipes and be thankful that it is NOT a Harley.
