Funnily enough the reason this advert never made it to air was because of an internal dispute at the advertising agency. This was made in South Africa but London held the Sony account, despite Sony wanting to run the ad the agency pulled rank with the London office and it never made it to broadcast.
I've only just seen this comment, thanks for the insight V/vm! You probably don't even use this account anymore, but do you still have the original remix for the advert?
Unfortunately the one minute remix of this song heard here is it's entirety. This song is on the V/vm boxset "less of what you want, more of what you need" disc 7. Release date TBA. There is no plans to make a longer version at the moment.
Dark and twisted... Playstation adverts used to be so artistic and inventive once upon a time. It's a shame they never kept that tradition up even if this particular advert is pretty fucked up
V/Vm has never owned any rights to his remixes (or 'remixes'). Every remix has been done illegally and released illegally with no legal rights from the copyright holders. He began this in 96 and only in 03 he got into any trouble for it.
Does anyone else find this intentionally horrible? It's like the central message is "hey, you can experience the thrill of the conflict that killed your parents' friends without coming home in a pine box or wheelchair thanks to this game console we built."
@@vineyardsofthesea8776 good job, it's always worth dropping an artist a mail. I guess you never know it may emerge one day or someone might remake the remix.
I made a full version of this track, albeit without the electric drums towards the end, more a classic V/Vm "Lady In Red (Is Dancing With Meat)" jive, but hope you enjoy regardless: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ewK9PAPTM3w.html&t
V/vm made alot of really good non noise tracks that went for a more improvised industrial approch and even released a collection of machine loops meant to be used in industrial composition and apparently also used by v/vm on various songs
Well I never. Love the track by the way, just discovered your work - WOW. Which agency had the balls to go there in the first place, out of interest? I'm from SA
That's what we do anyway, whether we admit it or not. Even anti-war fiction like Saving Private Ryan or Metal Gear Solid glorifies the action. It's all entertainment. Kinda messed up, but meh, that's people for you.
