Every year around christmas time i burn about 2 or 3 copies of this masterpiece on cd. I always give them to the same people.

Listened to the Caretaker for years, but never touched other weird V/Vm stuff. Well... Im happy I found this steaming pile of Christmas.

For people's info this is not just James Kirby on this record. It is him with his mates: Animal MacGregor, Acid Alan, Jansky Noise aka Speedranch and others. The glitch scene at the time was mostly using free software on pcs and old guitar pedals etc. You can even recreate some of this music on the Sega Saturn's music player too as it time stretched and distorted songs if you messed with settings. The glitch scene was born out of being skint and creating music out of free stuff - old records no one wanted etc.

It's all connected. Leyland Kirby is vvm and boc is hell interface!

It's still hard to believe that Boards of Canada themselves appear on this record. It seems like the last place they would make an appearance.

TBH, somebody made a great point that it takes somebody who enjoys this type of music (I.e. Christmas music) to make something like this. And guessing that TURKEY exists it's no suprise James Kirby And Co. Are quite familiar with this sort of music to begin with and probably grew up closely with it around their holiday season.

I bought this in a shop in Brighton while out with someone who I had a ridiculous crush on. This and Kind of Blue will always haunt my memories of this time
