After a brief stop at Yaquina Head Lighthouse, in Newport, Oregon, we head up to Vancouver, Washington, for some unexpected van maintenance. There, I have the opportunity to take our Winnebago Revel into Gifford Pinchot National Forest to do some exploring, and to stretch its legs and put the four-wheel drive system to use. Washington's backcountry delivers some amazing autumn scenery, verdant rainforests, and colorful foliage.

My daughtesr great grandfather was the light house keeper of the Newport light during the 30s..,Sometime during the past the lighthouse keeper t fell from the cat walk and was killed, later during the 30s when (GGP) he was the light keeper, The girls great grandfather would tell the story while checking the light on stormy nights he would hear the the Old lighthouse keeper climbing the stairs and walking on the catwalk.

I'm in the Canuck version...northern Vancouver Island. Yes it is beautiful but what with fuel prices, not allowed to carry, all the rain, three different kinds of bears, badgers, Nanaimo Bars in every gas station, funny money, cougars (4 legged kind) and more...go away, we are full....(LOL in case you youth don't get boomer humour.)

The pex clamps on the non pex hose are my problem. They did a good job replacing the plastic with brass. However you a worm clamp would have been a quick fix. I always have a few extra in the van.

Those sea otters are usually thought to be happy-go-lucky animals, floating on their backs enjoying a seafood snack and generally frolicking in the daylight hours by the shore -- but seeing the fella on the beach get his socks wet might've added to the fun . . Stay safe!

Love that part of Oregon, the central coast rocks and the PNW rainforests are so cool. Went there about the same time last year, when I can I will spend some quality time nomading there.

I replace all those clamps with screw type rad clamps. Those crimped ones suck 4 rv’s taught me.

So Overlanders who know nothing about simple repairs have to take them to for service. 😂 Personally, I would've bought new fittings and done it myself but I would also never spend $200,000 for a van. 🤷

I think Chris did a review of the Revel some time ago. It's seemed ok for light trails, but not suitable for rougher stuff. A Jeep or similar would be better for that.

Somethings Changed ever since the Revels arrival. Adventure Afoot or in Orangie doesn't have that pre-revel Interest for me. For You? In researching a few other Vlogs, I've found 2 - 'CARRY ON VAGABOND' and 'One AdVANture at a Time' - that V4wd seems to have more in common with. I'm always in search of that True AdVENture that the show used to have . . . ! As is Our choice, I must say I've grown disappointed (been "on it" since the beginning) and won't be "a regular" here on out. Best to you both and the pooch of course.

14:58 What Washington scenery? You showed maybe 5 minutes of good scenery in a 15 minutes video. Adventure is what I'm looking for not car maintenance reviews. You could have skipped that and just filmed more of Washingtons' beautiful scenery. You were filming some good stuff this summer, what happened? Quit being so lazy and get your act together.
