Spectacular fall colors! This week, we get back to exploring in the Jeep and venture up some high-elevation mountain roads in Colorado's San Juan National Forest. Following a brief update, I show you around our basecamp for the week, and then take Orangie into the mountains to stretch its legs, and enjoy some truly amazing scenery. A change in weather yields a dramatic skyline, and I hastily prepare a grilled cheese that is kind of okay.

Losing man and woman's best friend is never easy. My condolences to you both on your loss. My parents had a Rough Collie back in the early 90s that had to be put down and I still think of her every now and then. I hope you both get better soon, having a cold is never any fun, I had one a couple of weeks ago myself and still can't shake the cough.

Its heart breaking to put our fur babies to sleep but its the right thing to do. I had to put Maggie Mae to sleep (a Munchkin kitty who was with me for 17 years) after her last day from Kidney Cancer. Its was tough to do but it ended her suffering. RIP Finnegan and Maggie Mae. I will never forgot you little Munchkin💗

Sorry for your loss. We rescued a 13 year old red healer that was taken.on his first car ride in his life while being dumped at the shelter. He was blind and nearly deaf and I felt for him immediately. His name was Bo. I thought of Bo often while watching your videos because Finnigan was the spitting image of Bo right down to the way he'd flop on to the ground. It's a pretty common trait of healers. Anyway, once again I'm truly sorry for your loss.

Absolutely beautiful, the oranges and yellows and it's always good to watch the ever intrepid Orangie. I'm glad you're taking her in for some TLC. I'm sorry for you two losing your Finnigan. So sorry to hear about Finnegan .We had to put down our Sheltie a few years ago. It was one is the hardest things we have ever had to do. Glad you guys are on the mend. Sounds like you two had what I had a couple months ago. ( the dreaded “Rona”!) That Jeep footage and mountain scenery was spectacular! There is something about watching that Ruby stepping along a forest trail that is very soothing and relaxing.👌

Hello Chris & Shannon, Sorry to hear of Finnegan’s venture across the rainbow bridge. I know how you’re feeling loosing a beloved friend. Keep the good memories, they’ll help you on the dreary days. When we lost our teacup poodle several years ago I took three days bereavement, they are family after all… Love the way Orangie look’s amongst the aspens, fits right in. You are the 2nd YT channel I follow where the folks have had to put a beloved pet to sleep. Mortons on the Move lost their Bella a few weeks ago. Its such a miserable decision, yet usually the correct one, for all the pain and sorrow it generates. I'veq been their with many cats now, hate it. All condolences to yourself and Shannon.

Chris you like cheese sandwiches. Kick it up a notch to a triple chesse grilled sandwich. Layer of cheese on pan, then bread with more cheese for inside, 2nd bread slice and another layer of cheese on top. Close lid and grill as normal. Hah, nothing normal about a triple cheese grilled sandwich. Even better, add ham slice inside and a pickle side car.

I'll miss seeing Finnegan. Please adopt another adventure companion. It's more entertaining and comforting to see a furry character in the periphery. Pets are way more interesting than humans anyway. Hey there brother and sorry about Finnegan 😔 he’s in a better place now. I’ve have a question 🙋‍♂️ I’ve been seeing all the places you’ve travel to and I was wondering do you use your 4WD a lot or a little? When I look at your videos the trails that you travel on don’t look very technical and in your opinion can a 2WD truck with high clearance can make it?
