GUYS / GALS / ARCHERY enthusiasts - leave a comment below or give this comment a thumbs up if you think Jake Webb should start a youtube channel!! 30 thumbs up and we'll get him to do it... Honestly Dan and I have been encouraging him for a while but he doesn't believe he can do it. What do ya'll think? - Tim & Dan Also Stay Posted: Largest GiveAWAY ever coming soon to a channel near you... Appreciate you all
Start it up, and don’t set high expectations. I just started mine, not many likes and no subs. But I’m gonna keep doing my thing and someday it’ll start growing in popularity. That’s my thoughts on it anyhow.
@@longdrawarcher4857 🤦♂️ I don’t know if that’s sound advice? Don’t set high expectations, you do that so if you fall short you can use it as motivation to succeed. Keep at it man, I’ll sub to your channel!
If he either believes he can or can't he's right. The real question is, what if he does and it's great? When compared to not doing anything at all? Come on. Easy answer is easy.
Bro! I’m addicted to your channel. Always putting out amazing content and help inspire us all to be better! Looking to do my first TAC this year. Team Mathew’s let’s go!!!🇺🇸
Hey Dan, I’ve been watching all of your content for 1.5 years now and finally decided to get into archery hunting. I’ve got an appointment with MFJJ March 2 at SVA. Looking at setting up a V3X and was wondering if I could bounce some questions off you as a newb. I know MFJJ will have a lot of answers but getting as much information as someone new to archery can’t hurt.
You should do a shoot off between the 29 and the vertix ! I love my vertix and each year since it seems that the vertix riser has been in between all the new bows
I swapped from 75/85 to a 65/80 and it changed my world. Still good speeds for all season long and it draws and shoots so damn smooth. It’s the perfect set up in my opinion. But that’s just me. Love the content gents and this vid was one of my favs. Love the MFJJ interaction and the Forrest’s Mathew’s blast🤣 he’s been talking smack to me for years and now he has crossed over 🤣. Also agree on the beard oil, said at the beginning to the Mrs that Josh could use some oil for the wild man beard lol
Shot a Matthews for the first time this weekend, and I really enjoyed it. However, it looks like they are a pain in the ass to tune, no? I don’t want to deal with taking the cams off to correct a paper tear
I drop the weight down on my bow in the winter to work on a form. Kind of a pain in the but to go back and forth, but it is super helpful I feel like to pull a lighter weight when working on your form. Gread vid guys. Hope you guys don't get smoked by that bearded wizard MFJJ at TAC haha.
Loved watching the builds, question though why shoot the 29 for hunting out west, never mind got to the end of the build you explained it, understood! I am one of those short draw guys that believes in longer axle to axle and hate to see the industry shifting to shorter bows! was really wanting to try out the 33 but after listening to you I am not so sure, might stick with my evo nxt 35 for another year!
From what I've seen, the universal bracket on the new Epsilon mount is still compatible and will not interfere with the new low profile quivers. I might be missing something or mistaken, but in your opinion, do you think there's a benefit to getting the Mathews only mount when the universal mount is going to be compatible with any bow you might own in the future? From what I can tell maybe it's a tad lighter and aesthetically maybe it looks a little nicer?
Since you are using a different set up and arrows for tac specifically this year, are you going to tinker with different fletchings on the lighter arrow?
I’m 6’ 3” with a 29.5” draw, sometimes 30”. I’m interested in the VX3 29” because it’s compact. I do hunt out west a lot, is the 33” too big for regular hunting? Should I go with the V3 31”? Is it that big of a difference?
Just wondering if it bothers Dan to see how much arrow gets cut off on a build? If arrows were sold by the inch all of his cut offs would be 2 more arrows? I say this as I have the same issue with my daughters arrows (25" draw)
Hey @ElkShape, what state have you been hunting elk in successfully? Are you tagging out in East WA or are you crossing the boarder to Idaho and filling your tags there?
Nice video as usual guys I just bought a v3x 33 and I’m looking to set it up for 3d in the off season my goal it to go to a 60 pound draw with 80% letoff my drew length is 28 1/2 do you have any recommendations on a arrow set up I would love to get to that 295 ish speeds
Mathews really need a new system. Changing shims would get really old fast working on these all day. They need to get with the program on the turning. Love the way they shoot. Great vids
Can you get the 33 down to 26”DL? I’ve considered setting up a 3d bow exactly like yours but with the trx34 but would prefer to save the $800 and use a v3x.
Having an issue with my top hats and getting a perfect bullet hole. What distance you shooting at? I’m good at 4 ft but @ 8ft & 12 ft getting significant tears. Should I just accept what I have and tune a bare shaft to hit with fletched @ 20 yds?
What is dans actual wingspan measurement?? I feel like I’m in the same boat as him when it comes to draw length .. I’m a little taller but feel like my draw length is too long on my bow .
Batman (MFJJ) keeps his secrets hidden amongst his challengers. I don’t know who to vote for but I do know I want a Mathew’s bow in my hand 👍 I have the bell 🔔 turned on, loving these videos
Nice video guys! I must have missed it, What was Dans arrow build and final weight? I ask because I have a v3x 33 and also shooting 27” 60lbs with 80% let off. 295fps 60lb 27” is smoking fast!
Hey Dan, make a bet with Josh. For After you beat him at TAC. "To put oil in his beard." @Jake Webb go for it make the RU-vid. You got supports already. Keep the videos coming Dan! Team Dan for TAC! I shoot a short draw also. 5'6" and 3/4 #Elkshape #ABT
Here’s one for you Josh, I’ve been hearing about parachute effect on arrows with strong helical at long distances. I shout a strong helical, but haven’t shoot very much past 60…yet. What’s your understanding on it?
I shoot 30 inch arrows with heat vanes in three fletch 5 deg helical and I Havnt noticed any wobble out to 100yrd. I shoot Lighted knocks to track the flight and watch what the tail of the arrow is doing. I know ppl talk about this parachute affect happening after 40 or 50 yards but I just don't see it. Maybe with crazy long feathers that have more drag? I def think Elk shape need to do some testing! If I'm not mistaken I've seen Dan shoot out to 120 hitting balloons and arrow flight seemed fine to me!
I use AAE max stealth. Stamped with the elk shape logo. Lol. But, I haven’t noticed anything either. I know that Dan shoots long distances quite a bit and he continues to use strong helical. So, I figured he would see it if it was happening. My arrows are at 28 1/2”. 175 up front. 460 taw.
My thoughts are this: for hunting distances (20-50) yards depending on where you're at, a strong helical to stabilize your broadhead is great. I have a different bow setup for long range/3d and I run smaller vanes with less helical and high FOC to keep them fast and stable past 60. Just my .02.
May be truth to it, but I've been 4 fletch max stealths @ 3* left helical for a couple years. Midrange 50 ish for hunting with fixed heads. Consistently shoot out to and past 120 yrds for practice. Even with nocturnals arrow flight is spot on. That said, there's no question helical slows down more than an offset factory fletched setup. Current arrow is vap tko @ 545 grains going 290. 82lb Ventum 33
😂 I would die laughing if Jake or Tim won at TAC. But I’m definitely looking forward to watching that! Fingers crossed my entry wins and I can whitness it for myself
@@ElkShape but in all seriousness, I think Jake could do a RU-vid channel with material of hunting/ his welding talents. Such as him fabricating items for a hunting truck rig, or like the weight lifting platform he talked about.
