I've been watching all of your videos, started with the newest 2020 venture first, then back to the beginning. I've been looking forward to your run through Maine where I live. The north woods are amazing to experience. There's never enough time to see it all.

When you get to Maine, remember, the logging trucks ALWAYS have the "right of way" on the logging roads. If you are on a single track with a truck coming at you, pull off even if there isn't space. Or, you'll have to race him in reverse so he doesn't go up and over you.

This episode reminds me why I dislike the east or anyplace east of the continental divide. So glad I’m out west. Dad knew what he was doing long ago moving us out from western New York. I hate the mosquitos and humidity. I would think you are pondering how to make your way west again! Great photography and especially editing. You have a gift. Thanks!

Reminds me of blackflies, noseeums and mosquitoes I experienced in New Hampshire---high season seems to be June/July. August is much better! One reason I like the western desert environment!

Great to see you passing over Moose River. It has become an annual pilgrimage for my circle of friends, specifically to Holeb Falls, where there are two free log cabins and the best fly fishing you have ever experienced (if you want native brookies). Moose River is neat in that it creates a loop canoe trip lasting around five days yet bringing you back to the start in Jackman. Holeb itself is an off-grid town around a lake, which is an experience in and of itself. Hello Jack Bell, if you're out there (resident of Holeb).

Vermont and New Hampshire appear very similar, lots of water, vegetation and annoying bugs... Shame there were so many trails closed in Maine, it’s like the locals don’t want you traveling freely... Stay safe out there.

the New England wilds are just off the hook gorgeous. I have always loved Vermont and northern NYS. Things to remember... black fly season in spring. pure evil and affects all northern states above a certain latitude, and up into Canada. not sure how long it lasts before it goes back to just normal mosquitos and gnats each year.

If you're going to cook on cast iron, you should get a chainmail scrubber. They're less than $10 on amazon, and they'll prevent you from needing to use soap or anything else to clean the griddle with. Just scrub it down with that and water, and use some coarse salt if something really wants to stick. Easy!

At 24:10 it was like watching Wages of Fear or its semi-remake, Sorcerer. Both great movies. But this stuff is real. Quite amazing.

The largest mosquitoes and ticks I have ever seen have been in Couderay Wisconsin . they are even worse than Texas Mosquitoes. I've never been in Vermont so I cant compare. Nice job on the videotography. Thank you for your time.

Way late on this video but I enjoy your content and I'm current, so I jumped back a bit... anyway, I love those types of griddles and recommend trying the flat side as it will sear the entire piece of meat and is easier to clean. I always want to use the grill side but find it does not do the same job. My two cents Haha. Can't wait for this weeks video!

Great videos !suggestion for ankle. Do exercise now and fhen with them. At gym or home. Best ones are the same you do for calves...that will strengthen ankles and good also for walking. You seldom will get ankle bending problems..and will feel a sure step on irregular trails etc

Your video last week prompted me to purchase a Thermacell on Amazon. I'll be testing it out this week. As always, great videos, can't wait to try some overlanding my Jeep.

Garfield Falls and Moose Head Lake I have actually been to! Are you going to grab the dirt road north through the town of Kokadjo and head to Baxter State Park I wonder? It is always a thrill to see moose in person but have never had the chance to see calves what an awesome experience you had.

If you get a change to pick up a Thermacell then do it! I have 2 of them and I would not be without one in the Maine woods during the spring and early summer.

I use a Thermacell - the kind that mounts on top of a propane canister. These units actually work, in my experience.

You finally got the permethrin spray... Check out Simms Fishing gear. They sell pants, shirts and masks that are pre-treated. I have some and its awesome

You probably wont have a signal, and will be out of Maine by the time you see this. If you have a chance, get up to Baxter state park (far north) and the penobscot outdoor ctr. And also Flagstaff lake (think it's in the southwest part if the state).. at flag staff, there is a road to the left that takes you to the dam. 8 miles after the dam road is where my grandfather used to own land. Also (its been 40 yesrs), but there was another road after that to get to spring lake. You can pretty much pull off anywhere to camp. On the way in / out. Over near the river and bridge. There is a dirt pull off that is called the "big eddy camping area". It used to be free (but again that was 40 years ago).

I use citronella soap every 2-3 days. Should be some shops around that area that sell homemade soap. Grab 4 bars of citronella and 3 bars of moisturizing burn and itch soap. I got ate alive last summer in Tennessee. Walked into a mom and pop store and was converted into a homemade soap buyer. She sold me a couple bars of citronella and medicated soap that helps with sun burn. Bites and poison ivy.

Come back to the southwest where the flying bugs are far and few between. IMO, the northeast stinks. Thanks for sharing.

Cannot tolerate the bugs. Like Naked and Afraid participants, insects are often the reason they tap out. What a beautiful area though. Wish Texas had that scenery.

You drove an hour south of where I live in Quebec Canada. This video is so well edited. It reflects how wilderness and the small towns are in northern NH and Maine. Awesome.

I wanted to order one of those tailgate tables like you have but I guess he raised his prices, by the time shipping was added to it, it was as much for one of those as it is for the outback tailgate table. Guess I'll just get the outback table but I really wanted the one you have with the magnets it looks like it's easy to use. Oh well.....

Another great video thanks! BTW have you considered a backup camera? I had one installed in the spare tire and the monitor is in the factory radio screen. It was about $1300 Canadian and made a massive difference when parallel parking, backing up at camp or backwards down a trail after running into a gate. All the best Doug
