🤣 Yes, that one I've been planning for a little while lol. Props to you for showing me how to get the clips easier. I'm glad they provided some laughs!! It's gorgeous!!! 😍
I love The Scarlet Pimpernel. It is such a great "first classic" book to read for people just trying to dip their toes into the classics. Your Wordsworth is lovely. my antique books are often my favorites!
Besties!!! ❤ To Kill a Mockingbird ❤ A Tale of Two Cities ♥️ Smelling all the books❤ The gold foil on Robinson Crusoe 😂 Great haul, buddy! It was so fun book shopping with you! ❤
Robinson Crusoe is such a great book! I hope you enjoy it! I've really enjoyed the poetry I've read by Longfellow and Wordsworth too. That Wordsworth book is such an amazing find!
Like you, Micah, I have a strong love for and feel the need to collect the books of Tolkien & Lewis, and how nice that you were able to visit an Inklings bookstore, and meet-up with Lucy & Steve. LOVE the vintage Hobbit/LOTR set you scored, and I am jealous of this find (@2:37)! (@3:32) I believe I read "To Kill a Mockingbird" in my youth but don't remember it, so I would like to read it in 2025, especially with it being a favorite of Lucy's. (@6:37) Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows" (1908) is a story I loved as a kid and want to revisit soon. Added this to my 2025 Classic TBR and would be happy to buddy read it with you if you'd like, Micah. "The Willows in Winter" animated movie you mentioned is actually based on a book by the same name that is the first of four books in the "Tales of the Willows" series by William Horwood, which were published in the 1990s as sequels to Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows." "The Willows in Winter" book was published in early-1993 and the movie, which I also remember watching and enjoying, released in late-1995. I'd love to re-read/read/re-watch all of these. (@8:09) I've also had an interest in reading "At the Back of the North Wind," a known favorite of C.S. Lewis and L.M. Montgomery.
Yes, Lewis, Tolkien, MacDonald, Chesterton... we need those kinds of authors again. Sounds like you have a great reading year lined up for 2025! Thanks for the info on the Willows in Winter, now I have another book to hunt for 😄 I'd be open to a buddy read! I'm not sure yet when I'll get reading it, but that would be fun!
@@MicahCooley_authenticstory - Let me know if you'd like to buddy read "The Wind in the Willows" in March for Middle Grade March, Micah. I hope to acquire the beautiful Union Square illustrated edition by then, possibly for my birthday.
Oh yes; To Kill a Mockingbird is a must read! I absolutely loved this post of all of your books & one of my favorites about it…..your smelling the “vintageness” 😃 ( that is probably not a valid word 🤣). Browsing consignment stores & Good Wills are so fun & you really made some great buys!! Love C.S. Lewis-Mere Christianity-such a great explanation of the true meaning of Christianity!! I’m so excited for you that you now have the whole Chronicles collection! Looks like a great family vacation-what coast & lighthouse was that in the video? Oh well, enough comments-we just safely made it through Helene & I am now ready to read for a while ☺️
Oh my goodness, I didn't know you were in the path of the hurricane! Glad you made it safely through, and hopefully without too much damage. I'm glad my humor got across 😂. I even cut out 2 or 3 other "book sniffs" because in editing it was getting to be a little overdone lol. We were actually at the Lake Michigan coast. It was windy, so the waves were the biggest I've seen there. I really do miss the ocean though! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
@@MicahCooley_authenticstory Yes, our area near Athens, Ga didn’t get a lot of damage, thankfully & PTL! Atlanta-lots of flooding- other areas had trees down, power outages, more flooding…but Tallahassee got the worst, I believe 🙏
This might be the first book haul I've seen that I know essentially every book you snagged and all seem to be worth the pickup! Robinson Crusoe is one of my favorites although many consider it boring. The same could be said for A Tale of Two Cities I suppose. I read LoTR for the first time this year after waiting so long for no good reason and it's easily the best work of fantasy fiction I read this year if not of all time haha. I am reading The Hobbit to my children currently but might need to do the Chronicles of Narnia afterwards. Good haul!
I'm so excited to read all of them! I just read LoTR for the first time last year after waiting for the same no good reason 🤣. That's awesome that you are reading the Hobbit to your kids! And I am certain Narnia will be a hit, too. I dream of doing the same one day! Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!!
Great find of the Chronicles of Narnia series! I have been wanting the Barnes and Noble special edition hardcover, but I think it might be out of print. My father had a vintage set of Lord of the Rings, but it was pretty much falling apart.
Hi, I recently subscribed to your channel, and this is the first video of yours that I watched. I just wanted to say that this is one of the best book haul videos I have seen, and I love the way you smell all of the books. I do the same thing 😅.
