After talking with the lady at the front desk, we were moved to a room in the newer section. Different as night and day. The employees really made a difference! We will probably return here after the way they really show you how they feel about their customers.😊😊
You are right it has a few things they could fix but it is a clean room. If you'd want to stay in one of the new rooms you can request it when you book the room. 😎😎
That's nice but if you go on down I wish u would do a review on th Norma Dan motel. We always stay there. Family owned and operated. It's very clean and prices r fantastic. Danette is the owner. Her mom and dad Norma and Dan have passed away. The brick house beside the motel is where they lived. Smokey Mt family did a review some time ago. They really liked it. Please try it. Tell them the Wehunts told u about it.
Thanks for the review. The hotel looks nicer than I would have imagined. I'm kind of creature of habit and have just a couple of hotels that we normally stay at. But this is a good option also. I'm like Bobby, I don't care for the adjoining room doors. But I do like that they put the jetted tub in the bathroom. I hate those sitting in the bedrooms. I like the lot of hotels and taking out the carpeting. The laminate flooring is so much easier to clean.
We stayed when I was young and my grandparents stayed in the adjoining room so we shared a balcony. That is nice. Also, since my boys are older teenagers we would get two adjoining rooms so I appreciate that. I can understand not liking it though if you aren't in a group needing 2 rooms.
We stayed here in March and the owners and staff were so nice. The breakfast with a mountain view was superb and the room and indoor pool excellent. Great value in the middle of everything there!

My family stayed there a few times when I was growing up. My husband and I went and it was great. We returned for a second visit and not so great. Finding a place that is consistent year after year isn't easy. We always enjoy your videos and your honest opinions.
We tried this place out based on reviews. The sleeper sofa was broken and the mattress on it was stained very badly. Part of the bathroom door was missing. Nearly fell off one of the queen beds because it was tilted to one side. We made do that night but moved on the next morning. The staff was very nice. Maybe our room was next in line to be up dated. Enjoy your videos.
That’s terrible. Our room was nothing like that as you saw in the video. We would have loved to have tried the new rooms that look very nice on the internet. Sorry you had bad visit you must have had bad room because most reviews are positive. That I guess is the only bad thing about doing these because we only see the room we are in. That’s why we say our room number so people can ask for it if they like it. Hate they didn’t fix that room like ours we have only stayed there one night for this video so don’t have experience in the others. Appreciate you telling us so we know. We just came back from there and stayed in the Maples again for 5 days. Clean retro hotel nothing fancy and reasonable. 😎😎
Our room was 234. Overall, the motel was nice. The kids tried out both pools. An employee we talked to said the problem with the sleep sofa would be taken care of the next day. Again, we look forward to your videos. Thanks for the reply. 🙂
We stayed there last minute a couple years ago and thought it was a dump I remember them just having Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast and you had to ask for an iron. They were still building the other parts. Taught us to appreciate paying a little more money

Thanks for this review! I might look into this on my next pigeon forge trip! I like the walk in shower, those are so much better for my older parents who sometimes have a hard time getting into the tub/shower combo.
That’s a very nice hotel….The swimming Pool was really nice…Wow the flooring really surprised me..Never seen flooring like this in a hotel. Hmmmm…the blinds was different..I agree…I think for under a hundred dollars for Gatlingburg..pretty reasonable.. Great review.
It’s a real gift to everyone when you stay at the hotel’s down the parkway. I still like maples better than vacation lodge but it’s so helpful. I really was surprised when you stayed at Howard Johnson in Gatlinburg, it was really good. Thanks a bunch

How did you two meet? Love your carnival, food and motel reviews. I used to ride all them rides too. But you couldn't get me on them today. I would if it was a wimpy ride. hahahaha

Bobbie I would have done the same thing by moving the dresser over im not keen on those adjoining rooms unless it's family, the price was nice but I would stay in the new building. 👍
I agree with you. I only like these adjoining doors if you have family with you. I would like to stay in the new area next time. But if you book at this hotel you have to ask for one of the new rooms. 😎😎
I definitely prefer rooms with wood floors and no carpet…feels cleaner and modern. I’m so glad your keeping our guy, John, safe Bobbie with that dresser! Not a fan of those adjoining rooms myself. Paying for ice? Crazy! Hope the biscuits and gravy were decent! Safe travels!

Hi guys great tour of Vacation Lodge. Yes the room needed some repairs however looked clean and so did the pool. I especially would love just sitting by the fire pit at night. Smart move on the dresser Bobbie my husband does the same thing 😂😂. Safe travels guys😎😎

Our family stayed in this hotel last spring. We had brought our 2 grandchildren. Upon arrival to our room, it smelled of cigarette smoke. We told the office and they said they would run an ozone machine and that we could come back in 2 hours. Once back in our room we found it outdated. Old trim and wallpaper peeling. I opened the door to balcony, which is not private and our neighbor was smoking out there. The chairs in the room were old and lumpy. We thought it great that it had new flooring but, that was not the case. Once my husband got out of shower and walked to the bed, his feet were black. Just our experience.
Good morning John and Bobby we have stayed there before during rod run we found two or three things wrong with our room but it didn't matter we we're only sleeping in the room at night overall nice room till next time take care

On my very first trip to the Smokies we stayed here. It has cetainly seen some updates since then. And I don't blame Bobbie one bit for moving that dresser! I would slide it all the way over the door!

My favorite is the Christmas Inn. We have a few on it. The Valley Forge Inn is one of the places we stay.We have a video on it. But the internet is not any good. 😎😎
I must have higher hotel and restaurant standards than the folks watching your videos. I would have stayed somewhere like this in my 20s and 30s but today? No way....I stay 90% of the time at Marriott properties like Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites and Fairfield Inn and the other 10% at Hampton Inns. Typical cost is $100-$125/night. Comsistently spotless and mostly newer properties with far superior security than this old style "exterior corridor" motel from the 70s or so.
Thank you! I was hoping to get to go, but my husband had some surgeries a couple months back & we had to use his vacation time for recovery. There is always next year & I have a healthy hubby 😊
HAD STAYED THERE BEFORE BUT NOT EVER AGAIN , WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT 48 HR WINDOW CALLED ABOUT A 2 TO 3 HR TIME BECAUSE OF HEALTH REASON WAS CHARGED A FIRST NIGHT RATEON CANCEL, TOTAL B.S. YOU WONT GET ANY MORE. $$$$$ from me
We didn’t know we had a adjoining room when we booked it. It doesn’t bother me at all except the noise is bad from those kind of rooms compared to solid wall. Bobbie doesn’t like them at all. They are in most rooms anymore. 😎😎
