Tommy is looking good! Aww, too bad you can't keep them all, you would if you could. The rain sounds good in the barn. The head gate is a good idea. The ewe lambs are quite curious. It's good that the vaccines are getting done. The ram lambs are quite handsome, especially Little Mister! Glad and Hannibal have done a great job for you this year! It's a good thing that diarrhea is treatable. You take such good care of your sheep. Arnie did such a great job clipping, those clippers were the perfect gift. I love Arnies mower! Thank you for another educational video. See you tomorrow!
Good evening Arnie and Lynn. Hi Tommy. He looks like a century. Hi Scotty. Glad the Ravens are still hanging around. Tge lambs look almost as big as the mommy’s. Awww. What gorgeous ewes. Oh look at those ewes with the bobbing ears come marching in like soldiers. I think I heard them say no. I don’t want to stand in the rain😂😂😂. Time to line up all you lambies. A satisfying feeling to be right on time for vaccines. Way to go Gladiator. He is by far my absolute favorite Prince. Little Mister (aka Tick) really wants to watch. Love him. Way to go Hannibal. The big boys showed the rest of the boys how it is done. I think Arnie is improving with his clipping. But i can believe working on a dirty bottom was a bit yucky. I remember the ram lamb that was stuck. Yay for the much needed rain. Thank you for explaining the disk bine and how it works when you are mowing hay. Great video and lessons. Big big hugs to you both. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😉😉😉❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wonderful video! Arnie is getting so good at shearing! I love how you guys love your animals! I am grateful I found this channel, makes my day brighter and happier after I watch a video! Thank you for taking the time to share your lives with us ❤❤😊
Glad to see you get some good rain on the crops! That will jumpstart those beans! Arnie does a great job shearing. His work looks very even and clean and you know it feels great to the sheep. Your home grown boys really shined for you in their lamb production. Glad really seems to like throwing those girls. Little Mister really wanted to be by his mama's side.😉 Thanks for a great video! Have a good weekend and stay safe!!🙏❤
And speaking of saints, I want to recognize Kathy Saylor from MN who noticed that we have trouble counting our sheep when we are working with them and sent us two counters. I'm thinking she sent two so I could not only count sheep but could also count the silly things Arnie says each day!🤣🤣🤣 Thanks Kathy 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Beautiful Suffolk ewe lambs! Awesome shearing job, Lynn and Arnie. As good if not better than Jacob. 😊 Hope you guys don’t get too much rain in the next day or two and can get the mowing done. Have a lovely weekend! 💛
Only those 3 dirty bums in that whole bunch, that is amazing! And thank you for acknowledging the work u do to reduce parasite resistance, so important. Spot treating vs. mass treating. So enjoy you two….thanks for always keeping it real and staying authentically you(or is it ewe)?😊
Just the last couple days I watched some lama shearing on RU-vid. They did the shearing with the lama standing up with a harness like you use to start training the show sheep, tied to a fence. The channel is called Right Choice Shearing. With lamas being taller there isn’t as much bending for shearer, but when super stressed they can projectile vomit stomach acid…I think sheep are better. 🤢 ❤🐑✂️🐩
Actually, most professional alpaca and llama shearers will tell you that they should be sheared lying down because it is much safer for the long-necked animals.
Great video. I loved hearing about which Suffolk Rams were producing the best lambs. But what about the Dorset lambs ? You don't seem to talk about the Dorsets as much. What's happening with the new " Bodacious" boys ? The Dorsets are my favorites 😍
We haven't finished sorting through the Dorsets yet so are unable to make final judgments on performance. It will be soon though. The new Dorset rams haven't arrived yet. So far though it looks like the humdinger Dorset ram lamb is from Kasanova.
Awesome video. Something I’ve been wondering about. Especially after being shorn, could a sheep get sunburned? Or would there be enough wool or maybe the lanolin protect. I’ve yet to hear any sheep channels I watch mention this. THANK EWE!!
Absolutely they can get sunburn. Like with humans, the paler the skin, the more easily they burn. So white sheep like Dorsets could burn more than Suffolks who have darker skin. The wool left on them does help protect them. But bare skin burns especially on over-docked tails that would expose a bare behind - another reason to leave a tail that covers their privates. Good question!🙂
Hi, Lynn. Did you ever find out who sent you all the battery-charged clippers? I hope so. That person is a saint. In fact, I'm working with the Pope to fast-track sainthood...
Hello! I would love to purchase 30-40 suffolk ewes this august is there any way i could source genetics from you or tour farm? I am a big fan of the canadian style suffolks and your breeding program. I am from section alabama so it would be a terribly long haul if you have any suggestions on breeders in my area? Do you have foot rot present on your farm?
We do not have foot rot. Best to contact me via email so we can talk, but we do not do semen or embryos, and shipping ewes to the US is very complicated, unfortunately. Rams are much easier!🙂
