A few years ago Costco was carrying the Sebo Felix for a while and I convinced my aunt and uncle to buy one. Unfortunately Costco stopped carrying the product.

My wife and I own and operate 2 local vacuum shops in Maine. Western Maine Machines. We sell and service SEBO, Miele, Simplicity and Riccar vacuums as well as install and service central vacuums. If you want a quality vacuum that will last 20 years or more, please come and visit us. The benefits of buying from a small, local business are unmatched and numerous.

4:28 The 10 year warranty only covers the motor. The rest of the vacuum is covered by a paltry 1 year warranty. There’s many reviews of this vacuum’s motorized head and battery going out after only a few months. Only good thing about this machine is the washable cyclones.

I’d get a Bissell Big Green and swap the motor with an Ametek, it would then last 20+ years. Although the Chinese motor that the Big Green has is actually pretty decent.

It all depends on the company that is asking the factory to manufacture. If you get a guy that wants huge profit margins - you tend to get a subpar product as well. Walmart is one of those as some of the same products in China can be found for better quality than the American versions and often a newer one at that as well. A lot of Chinese have a lot of experience with motors, it's just the companies asking for something it was not designed to do because of them wanting larger profit margins. If you ever take a look and sourced, some of the best are in China - even ebikes etc. It is just that the west have never been exposed to it or know about it.

could you modify your recommendations to consider the costco return policy? If one of the sharks, for example, dies you could take it back to them even after a year or two for a full refund and never deal with the bad warranty junk. It seems like generally you don't recommend any of the vacuums at costco, which is helpful because it did seem like they all aren't great and that confirms it, but if you weren't as worried about longevity which ones would work best in terms of other metrics like performance and ease of use?

Even if you're morally okay with abusing the return policy. Why would you waste your time with unreliable machines that have subpar performance?

@@PerformanceReviews well that's the part I don't know, the performance when divorced from reliability. Are better vacuums a lot better to use? I am more worried about buying an okay vacuum at normal stores than a bad vacuum at costco due to my typical return experience everywhere elde. And zero moral qualms about returning a vacuum that breaks within two years of light use.. that's the beauty of costco having that warranty is it forces companies to do what they should do, make quality products that customers want to keep, or suffer for it (costco pushes returns back onto the manufacturer)

I would go to your local vacuum store and take a test drive. It's easier to see the difference in person than over the internet.

Thanks for the video, and an owner of a Sebo D4 for a week or 2. It was not available in Costco(warehouse) though Meile was sort of on the list. The Sebo is the primary cleaner in the house with an old shark as quick pickup and it did last a long time and is still alive after years of clean up, we did was the filters often . The rubber on the handle, however, is rubbing off because of use previously. Do intend to get a Sebo for central, however, the old central vac we have is well over 20 years old. Would you be doing reviews on the power units?

Those vacuums are good, but the Eureka’s. Still are trash compared to the Eureka Lightspeed series. Both models you saw on the screen are the same, but one is tangle free and the other one isn’t. I got the Eureka DashSprint in Red and it is the worst machine I’ve used. Constant maintenance is needed and it’s not just that, it has no sealed filtration. Will return it to Costco soon!

I have 7 cats and two floors to vacuum. Each floor is about 300 sq ft. Of carpeting. What do you think would be a better choice for me? I do also need the ability to vacuum my ceiling fans and edges because cat hair gets EVERYWHERE!!

Linus is also a massively paid influencer and caters to kids with much of their content being trash. GN is significantly better than Linus but specifically Linus would always try to cash in with any click bait and whatever is trending. Too bad Costco does not carry the better vacuums like Sebo but does carry the meile online at least.
