Thanks to your video, I found my petcock, I thought I didn't have one cause I couldn't find it. It's tucked away lol, nice camera work buddy! Keep up the good content
Hey man the best video by far with in depth clutch problems for the bike. One Question, I am having the same problems, any chance you can share where I can buy i new clutch assembly for this bike? I don’t necessarily think I will change the hydraulic clutch system but for sure the clutch assembly. Thanks and great content !!!
I tore mine down based on your video to see if I had the same problem but mine was ok. I discovered I actually had a binding problem in the clutch arm that’s connected to the case. The binding was too much for the return spring to take pressure off when the shift handle is released. I greased it up and used some chain lube to free it up. My clutch action is really good now
Glad you found the problem, and as you probably discovered these engines are not that hard to get into. First race of the season I just got a first place among the tricked out Groms in the Street 125 and 2nd over all.
@@minibikeaction4266 Go Vader! Taking the victory win! To and from work I put 56 miles on my Vader per day. Getting it reliable is a learning curve. It is a easy bike to clean as well
Sounds like the same problem I gave on my Grom. It died on me while shifting. It now won’t go into any gear. I’m working on taking out the clutch but I need the spanner tool. So far, the outside of the clutch basket looks ok. Good video. I’m concerned it might not be the clutch. I’ll find out soon.
This problem does not cause the symptoms you described it just causes gears to not go completely into gear. The Grom engine is a different design and Hondas are assembled with quality control so I'm sure you are experiencing something else with your trans or clutch. Good luck finding it and don't forget to performance modifie your engine.
Hey bud i just wanted to let you know this vid just helped me greatly. Im experiencing a sticking shift lever where the lever wont return to the mid position after downshifts and everything else you said sounds like my gearbox. I just got a red 2020 and its crunchy and nasty feeling as well i think im gonna do this when the clutch tool comes in.
Glad to help, after I did the repair it dose shift form gear to gear better and click into neutral like it should but not all is well. The gear shift often try's to stay down on downshifts and I blip the throttle for it to click up which is a little annoying and sometimes it wants to jump out of 4th if I don't give it a extra shift so I know its in all the way. I am living with it for now but I'm pretty sure there's a new close ratio trans in the future and I will try and perfect the other concerns. Thanks for watching.
You know what the problem you just discribed is actually closer to whats going on with my bike almost to a T specifically in 3-4 gear up and down. I was considering possibly the shift fork is bent? Ill have to look when i go in there. Is there any chance the bigger wheel you put is has anything to do with it?
@@MattDickey530 The replacement I put in the bike was the same size as the one that came out. I'm pretty sure the concerns I have now are deeper inside and are correctable. I will say that my trany was really bad before the fix.
hmm. my clutch on my brand new (2 miles) Venom x20 has stuck clutch plates it seems. when i hold the clutch in and shift down from neutral to 1st it will stall and lurch forward. When i aim it downhill i can click into 1st, 2nd, 3rd without holding the clutch in. I'll have to take a look at the clutch to see what's going on. maybe I can get a new clutch assembly with my warranty. if not it's alright..... excuse to tear things apart....
A bigger wheel is not needed the arm the wheel is on is bent and could be stratend with some heat and then reinstalled. It's as simple as that fellow Vaderer.
Got a Vader clone that won’t shift while riding and won’t shift from first to neutral, 2nd, etc. Oil level is good and clutch cable is engaging. It’s a 2022 model. Can the clutch already be bad? Plus no repair shops will work on these clones in my area.
So my issue is my vader when stopped even while holding in the clutch lever stalls and while riding doesnt shift or want 2 go into neutral but when bike is not moving i can shift gears. Any idea what issue could be
I my case it was the roller stopper, with that fixed the next thing was good clutch actuation and what I did was make a hydraulic clutch mechanism witch fully disengages the clutch when shifting.
My vader is basically new it has less than 50 miles. I can't ride much til I get my forks because it leans forward way to much but anyways, my clutch doesn't hit the friction zone until I release the clutch lever basically all the way. It's makes it really hard taking off from a stop. I tried adjust my clutch cable and the screw under the clutch cover nothing helps
Hey mike mike is bent on my Vader as well. Mines the x pro one as well. Do you know what year make or model you took that one off of laying around so I can try to find it online by chance. I’ve contacted the people and they said they doubt they can get it. Found a bunch on amazon but don’t know what one I need to get. Any advice on the one u used would be great..thanks!
The one I used came off a old full auto with revers engine. Its the small wheel type and was different than my old 4 speed SSR engine with had a big wheel. If you heated yours up you could straighten it.
MiniBikeAction ok I will have to try that. I’m just afraid to break it then be screwed lol..it’s a shame it seems like it always the same issue with these bikes lol but other than the small little stuff they run great. I was wondering worse case I wonder if one off of a msx125 grom would work for one?
I forgot to ask you when I asked you about that mike. After you put in that new piece in there how was the rough shifting and getting it into neutral. Could you deff tell the difference big time with that being fixed.
Hey idk if you will get this or not but I’m gonna be fixing mine here in the next few days. Just out of curiosity what did you torque that clutch nut to when putting back on?
@@chadh3269 Sorry Im late, yes it shifts 100% better and neutral is attainable with some patience but even after 1,500mi the trans is still not as smooth shifting as I would like so I am continuing to investigate and hope to find a fix that dose not involve splitting the cases.
Im having the same issue with my xpro vader 2020 gen 2. Do you know where i can purchase the same replacement part? A link would be appreciated thanks for the video brother
Those little arms are made in different sizes depending on the engine. I just happen to have one from a old engine that was the same as the Vaders, I really dont know the technical name of the part. I will look into it.
i am having problems with my bike its the same exact as yours,my bike's clutch when engaged doesn't work. i pull it in and then i put it on first and the bike jumps forward and stalls out. i tried everything, i changed the oil, adjusted the clutch, and even replaced the clutch but nothing works. is there anything you think it could be? i love this bike but its sad to have it parked with nothing that i can do to fix it.
The problem with my bike was not the clutch it was the way that the transmission shifted. Your clutch problem sounds odd. I would need to know if the clutch worked at one time and how or what happened when it stopped working. When you pull in the lever can you feel the force of it pushing in the clutch or dose it feel supper easy like its not overcoming the clutch springs. There are videos on pit bike clutches out there that might help. Dont give up, you will figure it out.
MiniBikeAction it was working fine before then when i was riding the bike suddenly shut off and so i tried shifting down to neutral with the clutch lever enganged and then the back tire locked up a little and skidded before i stopped. Then after that the clutch lever didnt want to work so i rode it back starting it on 1st and rolling with the starter then rode it back home on 1st, the bike turns on normal shift normal while off its just doesnt want to dissengage the clutch. When i took the oil out i noticed the oil smelled like gas and was thin which was weird so i assumed it didnt work becasuse the oil was bad so i put 10w-40 and that didnt help,Im not sure how the clutch works but im assuming it works with oil pressure and i noticed inside the clutch behind the cap was dry so maybe no oil is being pumped from the inside of that tube where the clutch is riding on. Anyways i dont expect you to completely diagnose whats wrong with it over the internet but i just wanted to see someones opinion on what it might ve because i have 0 knowledge on motorcycle engines so im learning as i go.so thanks for trying to help
@@litoms096 The clutch dose have some of the oil pumped through it and the center of the clutch acts as a oil centrifuge that filters the oil before it enters the crankshaft. Hopefully you changed the oil the bike came with new before you even started it. The clutch dose benefit from the oil passing through it as some of the oil slings out and cools and lubricates it but the clutch should work with or without oil present. You will need to trace the action of the mechanism as it is moved by the cable. It sounds like the arm (were the cable attaches to the engine) has broken form its center shaft that it was welded to and now only the arm is moving not the center shaft that gos inside the engine to operate the rest of the mechanism and push the center of the clutch. Good luck man.
@@minibikeaction4266 Hello my man! i just bought one and I have issues with it shifting while running, i had to adjust my clutch cable all the way out to get it to even slightly disengage but when hte bike is running it does not like to shift. Do you think its a clutch disengagement issue or the same issue as in this ivdeo
Hey my Vader dropped while I was buying groceries in the parking lot when I came back it was on the left side on the floor. The lever bend just a little bit up but not enough to notice .when I rode it back home it would only shift to 123 and neutral when I hit fourth gear it would go to neutral but display it as fourth gear. I can even turn the engine on in fourth gear what can be the problem?
Hey I bought the tool at 1:30 but how am I supposed to get it out? The whole thing just spins while I try to turn it. Sorry I’m not to knowledgeable in this area.
Not sure witch cover you mean, the four phillips screws over the clutch can be hard to remove and strip easily so I use a impact screw driver. I don't recommend the use of drill guns especially for reassembly, its a good idea to use hand tools only for a better feel of tightness.
Great video, and I am so thankful for having found your channel. I am having similar issues w my Venom x20. Were you able to fully fix the problems by replacing that roller/shifter selector?
There was no governor on my Vader it just would not rev any more than 7 or 8,000 rpm because of the restrictions of the stock intake and exhaust. With mods it revs easily to 10,000.
My vader gets stuck in first gear while the bike is running and can’t shift up. But when the bike is off can shift through all the gears. I don’t know what’s going on but maybe you could help
Even a small amount of clutch drag will make shifting hard when stoped with engine running. If the bike shifts as I commented on the video it probably needs the fix.
Was it hard 2 get into neutral while pulling in clutch lever because mine doesn't want 2 idle while riding nor does it want 2 shift correctly while riding but it does while I'm not riding it
How’s it shifting now with it replaced? My gen2 Vader has been doing this and seems to be getting worse with more miles I put on it. Probably gonna have to do this soon.
Hi there, with the indent wheel misaligned as it was originally, shifting was very crunchy, the shift lever often did not return to center, it would pop out of gear and so on. Now that the part is installed properly shifting is normal and it clicks into gear like it should witch makes the bike feel a lot less cheep but the Chinese tranys on these things almost never shift as smoothly or precisely as the Honda engine they copied.
