the vader comics by marvel have some of his best moments. Vader Down is a favorite for how ruthless he was against a small army of rebels. With this great quote "all I'm surrounded by is fear, and dead men". So good.
Just think about it. Vader KNEW that Reva was a youngling who seeks revenge from him this WHOLE time. He could have always just killed her since He knew that she was gonna betray him but instead He made use of her, allowed her to be an Inquisitor so He can have her obey his every command and do all kinds of atrocities only to humiliate her at the very end. This is some top tier trolling and evilness
Reminds me of a comic (which is no longer canon) where Vader convinced a Jedi to turn to the dark side in order to save a ship full of innocent people, and then blew the ship up anyways.
Makes no sense how she was face to face with anakin and survived, also y would Vader continue to let her live knowing she can tell everyone his true identity at any time
How do you think they've avoided Vader for so long, they hiding on Sand planets where it's Course and Rough and Irritating and it gets Everywhere, especially everywhere in Vader's suit
In addition, Tatooine is in the outer rim. As that one woman said in 1x1, the Empire has no jurisdiction... and then gets her hand chopped off. Also, since Anakin is from there, it harbors bad memories for him. It is where he and his mother were slaves, and where she was kidnapped and killed. So, he wouldn't be too keen on returning.
@Commenter that's only in legends. He doesn't have that weakness in Disney. Also even in legends and eu that was only one authors interpretation of vader. There's literally hundreds of different authors who wrote canon material in star wars and most didn't even care if they created a plot holes in another authors work.
Yes this is exactly what Vader is capable of and he can do even more. And the scene where he grabbed the ship...such Starkiller vibes...as Starkiller pulled down a whole Star destroyer. :D
Haha it’s always fun seeing people being so shocked at how strong Vader is. In legends he can yank ships out of hyperspace just as easily as he did this 😂
Honestly it’s scary to think how strong anakin would have been had he not been crippled he literally would have been the strongest force user ever(stated by George Lucas himself) I think obi wan did everyone a favor😅
@@dustiereagle1655 ehh not really I wanna agree but considering he’s not cannon plus I’m sure Vader is still stronger than him by a lot and Ik most people point towards him taking down a Star destroyer but remember it’s a game so there blowing his force power out of proportion plus I heard cause I’ve never played it sadly that the ship had already taken a lot of damage so not the most impressive feat especially considering Vader broke the wall between life and death
@@Dreamless-Dreamer you’re probably right. I played both games and I know fairly little of Vader’s feats from the comics. But canon or not, I still think he’s pretty damn strong. It’s the first I ever heard of the force literally disintegrating people. Also, to think that Vader is still stronger than him given Galen’s display of his power is insane. Vader was giving him the business in the game too so yeah I’d agree.
@@dustiereagle1655 I definitely agree Starkiller is strong but when put up against someone like Vader or palpatine or legends luke they dwarf him in power but honestly starkiller deserves a little more attention regardless of if his character is the most interesting
@@Dreamless-Dreamer I want nothing more than them to explore his character and anything else canon from the comics. At this point, no matter how ridiculous the feat, it could be perfectly displayed in a canon game, or maybe an animated movie
It's not so much that they treated Reva like trash because they knew she was a youngling, it's because that's how the Sith treat eachother all the time. All of them want to kill eachother to get closer to Vader so they can ultimately kill him and take his place, even if they don't have a personal vendetta like Reva. It's just how the Sith power structure works.
@@intothefrayyo for most of them their ultimate goal is to become a sith though. inquisitors are already basically sith without titles and they would all probably jump at the opportunity to kill vader but they know thats never gonna happen.
@@yimpyoi9808 well not really. They shave some dark side training sure but in canon the first batch of inquisitors were chosen by the Emperor, and tehy received mild training. He then left Vader in charge of their training. Vader taught them in such a way that they no longer fought like Jedi, which he said was a weakness of theirs, but also gave them a new weakness. Their light saber. Their style makes them reliant on the spin function. Sith have sith knowledge. And the inquisitors do not ahve that knowledge. They are just dark side users, since they lack the fundamentals of a true sith
11:43 I just had flashbacks to Starkiller pulling down a Star Destroyer in The Force Unleashed. If Vader was trying I am sure he’d be able to pull down much more than just 1 ship.
Darth Vader proving once again why he is the the greatest movie villain of all time. The way he grabbed that ship out of the air, dragged it back down, and then ripped it apart it something I thought we would only see in the comics or novels and never brought to live action. And then the way he fought….well let’s face it, Reeva was fighting, Vader was just toying with her and breaking her spirit. He never even used his own lightsaber against her, like she wasn’t even worthy of it. And I had suspected that the Grand Inquisitor was always alive because as rage is a hell of an anesthetic. Also to be completely honest I teared up both when I first saw Anakin and again when I saw Tala and NED-B die.
@@JohnnyZenith For the simple reason that they never thought of having huge feats of force powers back in the 80’s when they made that movie. Also why some characters seem more op in the current material. Like in season 7 of clones Maul has some serious force feats.
Y’all getting Reva’s motivations wrong. She doesn’t care about killing Vader to protect other people. She simply wants revenge by any means necessary. And Vader knew the entire time that Reva was a former padawan and that she was plotting her revenge. He just decided to take advantage of her drive for revenge to find Obi-Wan, and pretended that he was unaware this whole time 🤯
I think I enjoyed this episode alot more than I thought I would given that the last few episodes had left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth. Loved that Vader was playing around with the Reva. He was moving like Dooku and I liked that. He showed her that he is not to be messed with. While I give her some credit for at least trying to fight Vader but of course, she was just no match for him. The icing on the cake for me is The Grand Inquisitor came back and gave her some roasting. It was awesome lol. The flashbacks were kind of nice too.
The man is 91 years old, so I would hope they have a plan for Vader's voice that extends beyond him. For one reason or another, they can't keep keep him on the hook for the role indefinitely (and he's an acting legend who's more than earned his retirement and rest). Even so, he's done an amazing job adding a last batch of epicness to the library of iconic Darth Vader scenes in the Star Wars canon.
They need to make the Vader horror game everyone has been talking about. Just you and him in a derelict rebel capital ship and you need to find a way to escape, but every 5 mins Vader just busts through a wall like the koolaid man and chunks an X wing at you
I remember in comics Vader fought a near army of rebels in a desert and completely wiped them out like it was nothing by himself. Glad we got a glimpse of his action in this episode
Loved the parallel of both Obi Wan and Vader choosing not to fight with their weapons. Obi Wan does it with words and Vader does it by overpowering his opponent.
Ik this is a common trope in general not just in star wars but the "ah yes my enemy I have patiently waited to take by surprise is caught unawares, I shall now scream demonically before attacking" thing always kills me 💀 Sick fight all things said though.
To be fair, Luke only managed to do it because he was in a rage and Vader didn't want to hurt him. An angry Vader is weaker than an angry Anakin and Luke.
Agreed. Which is why the sequels now further sour the significance of Luke by how they treated him in the movies. The last actual Skywalker only appeared for 1 sequel movie, and had a pathetic existence. -_-
James Earl Jones's voice is actually being done with an AI that replicates a voice based on James's speaking voice from that particular era. The program is called Respeecher and it is the same program used to do Luke's young voice in Mandalorian and book of Boba Fett.
"Where were you Kenobi why didn't you save us" B*tch I was on another planet fighting a freaking four armed lightsaber robot you think I got time for you😂
When Vader ripped that ship from the sky and tore chunks out of it trying to get to the people, I lost it! Him bringing the ship down was ripped right outta The Force Unleashed with Starkiller taking down the Star Destroyer. Vader ain't playin no games!
Vader being overpowered af makes sense, lore wise. He is, or was, The Chosen One, but when he lost his limbs, it affected his connection to the Force. Despite this, this still makes him the most powerful Sith in galactic history, second only to Darth Sidious. Pulling a whole ship down is probably something he does on a semi-regular basis.
@@RobynLeSueur Yeah it's like saying getting shot should kill you every time, it depends on a lot of factors lol. Plus the whole rage/Dark Side survival thing they introduced with Maul. Having said that, it is pushing it that Reva seemingly survives not 1 but 2 lightsaber stabs in the exact same spot, and that Anakin/Vader didn't just finish her off either time there and then for sure.
In star wars it's a common theme that a strong desire for revenge can strengthen your life force through well- the force. Also the grand inquistor's race has two stomachs so he had an advantage anyways
To answer your question: It's very rare for force wielders to be able to sense literal thoughts. There's only been a handful in Star Wars history that have had telepathic abilities. (Most being before or during the Old Republic.) What the majority sense are emotions. Think of it this way. Every living being is standing in completely still water. (The water is the force.) The people that have no force sensitivity at all can never feel any movement in the water. (Movement in the water being emotions, movement, etc.) Force sensitive people can feel the different ripples and waves in the water (the force). And finally, force users can feel, pinpoint where the ripples are coming from, and then use the ripples to then manipulate the water (the force) against the other force user. Because she was so full of rage and hate, with aligns with sith ideology already, nothing was initially out of place. It makes it very difficult for force wielders to sense people and draw conclusions when there is no emotion also, to sense in the force. This fact is actually why Palpatine chose Jango Fett to be the donor for the clones. With every bounty he carried out, he never once had, carried or showed emotion. This is the attribute that palpatine wanted. That way, when order 66 came, most of the jedi if not all of them would be able to sense murderous intentions preemptively to defend themselves. Therefore, making it much easier to slaughter them. (I'm sorry I started veering off topic a little bit LMAO) But I hope this helped!
Also, that power level for what you've seen Vader do so far, doesn't even scratch the surface of what he's capable of during this time. When he's at his peak. They've been doing a great job of slowly building his level of terrifying for viewers that aren't super familiar with Star Wars lore. With this story telling it definitely reaches more viewers because while hardcore Star Wars fans would absolutely not be surprised, people who don't know anything or as much would mostly respond as "Aight this is too much I don't believe this."
"How can he not sense that from her?" Please, Darksiders plan murder of coworkers every minute of the day. The whole job description is "Fu€k around and find out". The smilin' greaseball is the one that sets off the HR flags.
Someone's already probably mentioned this, but in those old books that had the anatomy of species and blueprints of vehicles shows that the species the grand inquisitor is have two stomachs. So most likely he survived because of his second stomach.
You can boil everything about the dark side down to this: "too angry to die". And while it is true that you miss 100% of the shots you never take, timing..... youngling... TIMING. Ya boss JUST went full Starkiller Unleashed on a transport amd the real target got away.... so he BIG MAD. Remember the cornerstone of Darksiding? What part of this tells you "scream and leap" is a good plan NOW? Your shot was when you were KNEELING before Zod! Point and click, FZOOK. As for everything else, called it, called it, oh yeah and called it. If you think there's no way for her to get back inside his tolerated graces you have not been paying attention to how darksiders work HR. This whole "thing" with the grand inquisitor is just a performance review... on a tuesday. You'll know when they are done with you when they actually take your head.
This was probably their best EP. thus far. That said, -Uses grenade to save Obi against mob, decides not to use it at mob when they first entered. - Leia becomes certified engineer in 2mins. - Reva slices door in 1min. wut? - Inquisitors are immune to LS strike into chest. OK
Word the lightsaber cutting the door was hilarious cuz when they were barricading it I was like won't an inquisitior just be able to cut through it easily?
I don't know how many people played Force Unleashed but there is mission in which you as a Star Killed pull down whole Star Destoryer 😭 Seeing Vader doing same (but smaller ship) brought smile on my face.
To answer Lupa's question at 3:18 yes they are using James earl Jones as the voice for Vader. His name rolls in the credits whenever the episodes are over.
Them: [11:50] "that was too much"? .but they played "Fallen Order" & watched Vader hold back the pressure of an entire lake-ocean, from two sides, AT the sand-bed .this Noir Terror even trained dozens of apprentice clones to use the force w/ the SAME ENERGY, to bring down capitol ships .i even have reason to believe that his cape is actually the alternate universe version of Dr. Strange's w/ a Force-perm applied at all times by Vader himself, rendering it in a perma-stasis for maximum drip-factor as he walks and sidesteps
Amazing episode. Between the Anakin and Obi Wan flashback, all powerful Vader and that fighting sequence. Plus it answered quite a lot of things from previous episodes.
I want a show version of the canon Vader comics. Especially when he fights Kirak Infil'a. After that battle he takes the dude's light saber and turns his crystal red(he makes it "bleed", according to Palpatine's instructions.) Later on down the line the saber is destroyed but Vader saves the crystal. He then remakes his saber into the one we see him use in the movies. This is obviously early Vader, seeing as he had to do this to get his red blade.
I need that spongebob meme when theyre like “this is what weve been waiting for” whenever Vader shows up you know its a boss battle where the boss had no HP bar😂
Well...to that chat "Who would win: Thanos or Vader?" I guess we know who now. Anakin would rip that candy glove off Thanos' hand before he had a chance to snap!
Here’s my question... since when is being Impaled by a LIGHTSABER not fatal?? Also if he stabbed her as a child and then stabbed her again now why would they think that would kill her since she most likely has cybernetics to repair the damage from the first time? If you cut all of Vader’s limbs off and left him he’s not gonna die or necessarily be in pain, he’s just gonna be an angry burnt chicken nugget.
I mean, Darth Maul got cut in half and survived. Anakin was maimed and burned alive and survived. I guess in the SW universe, if you're a force user and have the will to live at all cost, that will improve your survivavility.
@@DZatheus Yeah but Vader is the chosen one and Maul was a powerful sith at the time, they probably just survived because of the sheer power of the darkside on them, not just because they wanted to live
saw your reactions to reva vs vader on Mixed Reactions’ page and came to the og video bc i had to see the reaction to vader pulling the ship down. definitely worth it lol
His voice is actually being done with an AI that replicates a voice based on James's speaking voice from that particular era. The program is called Respeecher and it is the same program used to do Luke's young voice in Mandalorian and book of Boba Fett.
Storytelling-wise, this is exactly how a penultimate episode should be done. Plotlines converging, questions being answered, story being focused into one final, critical mission, and the protagonist finding their mojo and motivation to really put their heart and skill into the final battle in the last episode. This is Star Wars, the way it's supposed to be.
Its cool to see people who mainly only watched the movies see the power difference between Vader and pretty much anyone that isnt a main character force user lol. I think he only fought against Obi-Wan (which wasnt the best fight to show power lol) and Luke in the original Trilogy who he wasnt really trying to kill. The game fallen order shows this very well too. He just shows up and forces the main character to run away and you could just feel the difference in power even more as a player. Not to mention that the game also has a codex that describes the different enemies and has a little tip for all of them except for Vader. The codex just says to run away when you see him. Showing Vaders immense power also helps show how hopeless the situation was for the rebelion until obviously Luke came around.
This episode resloved one issue with the Grand Inquisitor and made Vader look awesome! I just hate that it ended with Kenobi being an idiot not covering his own tracks.
Im pretty sure homegirl that sacrificed herself was a jedi. She was standing there because she was using the force to protect her which explains alot about her. She curved the shot to hit the door operating panel to close the door and then said may the force be with you. I wanna know if her real name was tana which i believe is what they called her.
