Vaillant Turbomax plus Hot water problems.MOV 

one of my friends had a hot water problem on a vaillant Ecotech plus 831, his hot water was barely luke warm and it turned out to be a mesh filter in the brass connecting block at the left side of the boiler , this connector block connects the pipe from the main hot water flow from the main heat exchanger and enters the brass block at the left side, and goes through a mesh filter, if this filter is clogged up the flow won't go through easily and cause the main heat exchanger to overheat whilst the hot water will be luke warm, get a tooth brush and insert from the left and throughly clean this in line filter mesh (also bolted to this brass connecting block is a pressure sensor, you can drain the top part of the boiler and remove the sensor to see if the filter is clogged up badly, if you don't see the white plastic mesh and see only brown or dark mess inside then it is certainly blocked up badly, also worth cleaning the plate domestic hot water heat ecxchanger with spirits of salt, pour it in and leave it for 5 minutes and no longer and flush it out thoroughly, this will losen all stuck up debri and other deposits, bring back heat transfer efficiency. You may get an F75 fault with this filter blocked, and as well as F22 overheat fault or dry run fault, but don't forget I am talking about an 831, who knows your vaillant may have a mesh filter too that is clogged up. To get to the filter, you have to drain the top part of the boiler, then remove the large pipe from the left going into this connecting block, this is a push fit connection retained by a clip, so pull the locking pin out and remove the big pipe out, and pull it away and clean the filter from the left, if filter is not stiff jammed inside, the filter sleeve mesh can be pulled out and cleaned outside and better this way. (anyone who can shag a bird can do this job, but please use precaution gas is lethal like HIV)

Hi,my boiler doing the same since last Wednesday. Heating seams work fine but hot water heats after couple of minutes and is not very hot. Whats going on??

Took me a while to understand, but i think he's referring to the Aqua Sensor. Mr Hole = Hall Sensor.

I actually thought they were looking for a leak under the sink !

Aqua sensor detects water flow. If it doesn't detect tap switching on/off (e.g no flow) it won't fire the boiler or may keep it on all the time until overtemp.
