Valencia was underrated (CL final in 2000 and 2001, 2004 UEFA Cup, La Liga in 2002 and 2004), but during the same period (2000-2004), Barcelona didn't win anything. They won the Liga in 1999, and they had to wait 2005 to win it again, and 2006 to win the CL with Eto'o, Giuly, Deco and Ronaldinho. In the early 2000's, despite they had some big players like Rivaldo, the Blaugranas level was awful. They had too much players who won titles with Ajax but weren't at their best level anymore (Kluivert, F. And R. De Boer, Bogarde, Litmanen...). Moreover, Xavi and Iniesta were too young at this time. In Europe, they were always trashed by the other teams. And in La Liga, Real Madrid bought Figo and was stronger than Barcelona.
