I've been waiting for this lol. As a Michigan fan I love Rico and Valenti and not just when they rip into their own but overall I think these guys are great.
@@Jazz-life Innocent of what?! You don't get to shoot your shot on the phone with a paid university vendor who is employed specifically to teach your student athletes not to do the thing you are sitting there doing and keep your job. I was a Mel Tucker guy before Sunday morning. I liked him. I still believed in him even as folks started to get down on him. I wanted him to succeed. But Mike is right-- F him. F what he did to the fans and the donors and his fellow coaches and, most importantly, these kids playing football for him. He let everyone down; everyone.
he had one fantastic season d/t one very good transfer. he got a fantastic financial deal based on that very good fortune. the kenneth walker season was a gift but he got arrogant.
That season, especially against Michigan he had an easy job where all he had to do was sit back on the sideline watching Walker do all the work. Once the luxury was gone Tuck showed his true colors as a coach.
I really wanted Tucker to succeed because he was a role model to me, because by him coaching the football program,he gave us brother's something to be proud of. Seeing a black man make it. Now I'm so disappointed 😢😢
There is gonna be another. I liked Mel a lot and I understand what it meant to finally see a coach like Mel get a big time deal in football. All I can say is that he was able to show what is possible and hopefully that inspires young black coaches.
Mike hit it on the head. Whether it was consensual or not by admitting to having an affair with a vendor Tuck cooked his own goose due to the morality clause in his contract. Since 2022 Mel Tucker has made a TOTAL JACKASS of himself even prior to this with his antics, this just sealed his fate. This is not a good situation for ANYBODY and as always these days excessive social media will make it even worse.
@@Jazz-life true, however even if it was a consensual physical relationship he did admit to having a physical relationship with a vendor which is a violation of his morality clause. Not a crime, but grounds for termination with cause. If he is guilty of sexual harassment I believe there would be a civil suit and not jail time.
@@Jazz-life I've read the statement (yes the whole thing unlike Mike & co). A personal relationship is fine, a PHYSICAL relationship being brought to the public and admission of it IS a violation of his morality clause. He's the face of a college football team for a major university and he has embarrassed the university whether this was consensual or not. If it was consensual, then it ends there fired with cause and done. However if it was not consensual then criminal charges will come.
Everyone in the media has an opinion. That's why they're on radio or tv....to give their opinion. How do you know if Mike played football? Do you necessarily have to play to understand the game? I don't give a ratz azz about Hairball. Sounds like you're a wolvie troll. Stay on Wojo's stuff and not here if you're so against Mike V. @@Jazz-life
they'll spend a day or two total talking about it but had it happened to UM, they'd be salivating at the mouth and constantly bringing it up for years.
He got that contract for beating Mich 2 times and used LSU as leverage. He's a fool and kids Mel Tucker is a classic example on how you can fumble the bag!
Mike says he’s tired of hearing about the contract as a radio host but literally bashed Michigan and Harbaughs contract because he couldn’t win the big games. MSU fans are the first to bash another school but soon as something happens to them they “don’t want to talk about it”
those 2 are constantly taking jabs at UM. had the equivalent happened to UM, they'd be talking about it for years rather than quickly trying to move on from the conversation as they have this week. also if u think back, they were constantly playing the race card, trying to say ppl didn't like sweaty Mel b/c of his race. they have very short memories, never acknowledging previous shows/statements if it doesn't fit their current narrative
And he's the one givin 95 million by MSU to not F things up. HE was in control of his actions and F'd up. When you hire a HC part of that is to simply not embarrass the school/program. He F'd up.@@Jazz-life
@@Jazz-lifehe's married and she was a vendor of the school. Even if Consensual, it's still a horrible & fireable decision. Violation of his morality clause any way you slice it.
Tucker really was trying to get to fired so he could cash out big😂😂💯 otherwise I don’t how he himself in his mind thought that bringing in a bunch of has beens was going to drastically improve MSU, recruiting and on the field.
@testtest7042 what's wrong with just saying Mel tucker is a joke? evoking bo does what exactly other then help you cope. the program is already a laughing stock and d bags like you are just piling it on.
@@ttmazz1 Why did Tucker tell the investigator that he was in Michigan when he was actually in Florida in a hotel paid for by the school? Or even mentioning that Lavigne was investigating her?
@@blackjesus804 it’s like Tucker was trying to be fired and cash out that $95 million😂😂and the way that Washington game went, add that to the pile of more lies.
Can we just have one segment per day where Rico doesn't interrupt Mike at all, like how it was with Foster? When Mike begins to cook, Rico inserts himself mid-thought with these non-sequitur ramblings that don't compliment what Mike's really trying to convey, whatsoever. It's very jarring to listen to. There's plenty of time for Rico to say everything he wants the next segment.
No idea how y’all aren’t upset w/ MSU leadership, kept this covered up for nearly a year and let him get this far into the season. And the idea this is going to affect every coach that is a POC? You’d have to be a racist to start making this about his race, how about y’all nip that talk in the bud.
You never award a coach with contract extension if he beat your rival 2 X’s or fire them if they can’t win. Spartans are gonna have to rebuild and it set them back, atleast they’ll rip the band aid off sooner than later. Mel was full of himself thought he was more than what he gave out!
Textbook self sabotage. Most likely subconscious, but he could not handle the pressure of being the head coach at MSU and took the guaranteed way to get out of it all.
True. And Bo's name is still all over UofM even though he allowed his son to get r@ped just so he could prove he is a true Michigan Man by not winning a national title.
if u think back, they were constantly playing the race card, trying to say ppl didn't like sweaty Mel b/c of his race. they have very short memories, never acknowledging previous shows/statements if it doesn't fit their current narrative
Soo lets say he doesn't admit to the masturbation part of this, does he still get fired? I understand he would be suspended and all, but according to the phone records this does appear to be consensual, so how can they fire him just because someone says someone did something?
Rico’s open racism is annoying. Rico: All black coaches will be called rapist now. Also Rico: Mel was targeted for being black and he gave them the excuse. Rico is a DEI hire
@@DB-xp9pxit doesn't matter the man should have just stayed away from the woman. That kind of p**** is not that important to lose your multi-million dollar job as a head coach at MSU
@@attiepollard7847 no argument here - there's countless warm bodies floating around michigan. i'm sure sweaty Mel could've found plenty of booty calls that weren't going to cost him 80 million lmao. his actions are sooo stupid that u have to wonder if they were on purpose for some reason. i mean, could anyone be that dumb?
This sucks. As a Michigan fan I really was enjoying MSU being such a complete laughingstock under this guy’s tenure. Now, MSU creates this story to create a chance to get rid of him. Meanwhile, self righteous so called Sparty’s pretend how this is just terrible but if he was a winning coach they would definitely be defending him
as a fellow UM fan, i hope somehow sweaty Mel sticks around based on some flimsy technicality. the last thing most of us want is for them to get a coach in place that deserves his salary.
Eww no. Especially not after the whiny excuses and trash talking about MSU he did after losing the Peach Bowl. Maybe as defensive assistant someday but not head coach.
Is nobody going to call her out for willingly engaging in this behavior as well? She’s not a victim. She participated in nearly 30 calls with him this yr alone.
You’re wild. She attempted to reach him after the “phone sex” in 2022 then he ghosted her and lied to her about her working for the university. She attempted to keep it professional but he was a dirtbag who knew what he did was wrong.
@@Jazz-life I heard his whole statement. You take that as truth? He got caught lying several times to the investigators. He lied about where he was at the time of the incident. He lied about it ruining his marriage if the “relationship” went further. Then came back and said he’s actually estranged. I take what he said with a grain of salt. Insiders have been hinting at less than decent behavior from him all off season. She seems sketchy too but I don’t believe his words either because he’s been caught lying about this stuff already. Like telling her that her speaking engagement was postponed for something else and then his university calendar proved that was a lie also
hopefully u're just trolling, putting the tired ol' sparty narrative out there, otherwise, we question your intelligence trying to deflect and doing it so poorly.
I truly appreciate that Valenti will rip MSU and Tucker despite his bias but "the national media hates MSU" takes are ridiculous. No one outside of the state of Michigan even talks about you, positively or negatively.
@@brandonbarrett8928sexually harassed a rape survivor,,jerked it on the phone with her and stuff ,, this after he brought her into the team to teach the players the importance of sexual assault against women..
MSU admin is obviously just looking for a way to get out of this guy’s ridiculous contract. If he was a halfway decent coach, I guarantee this story is not even known
What a damn shame. Can't fix stupid. Put this same energy into recruiting and NIL and MSU is a top 10-15 team. We see whats important to him. Like Mike said quoting the great Maya Angelou "when someone shows you who they are, BELIEVE THEM!!!"
never liked tucker to be honest. always thought he was given all that money and hired due soley to the color of his skin. what could go wrong there? cant hire on appearance alone.
@@tommywintonjr2641 well just being real. if Mel Tucker was white...he would be Mel Tucker the junior college coach making $100K per year. thats fact. you cant just pretend affirmative action doesnt exist. it does.there is more black on white racist bigotry in our culture than ever before. never seen it this bad. the hate.Harbaugh is a Christian...woke crowd hates that. targeted. Should have nothing to do with race. Tomlin is black who would not want him for a coach? Mel is not a great coach if he was you would not hear about this. 😊
@@kingfisher302 we agree there. shouldnt have one damn thing to do with race. nobody would question Tomlin. or brad holmes or scores of other intelligent guys. its the woke idiots who want affirmative action in place...hiring bad folks just cause they look right. thats the problem right there.
@@Jazz-life they are not in high demand. the schools are woke. thats all this is. color of his skin. Mel Tuckerwasnt a great coach even. thats my point. affirmative action. moving backwards.
I'm just loving the spartan radio network misery right now..😂...little brother just can't get right...lol. Get ready for a losing season WSU is going to mop the floor with you guys. Valenti and Rico are pure clowns. If it wasn't for Michigan wolverine content this show would be dead...lol...valenti just loves to hear himself talk. He likes to be the smartest person in the room but he isn't...🤣
Overall good segment, and I wish more MSU fans felt the way Rico and Valenti do. But I am lost at the part where Valenti says it is wrongful termination if you suspend him once you know about the Title IX investigation. That doesn't pass the sniff test to me. If a Title IX officer knows a complaint has been filed, it seems entirely reasonable to me that the employee could be suspended (with or without pay, I don't care). That shouldn't count for wrongful termination because you aren't terminating anyone, just letting the case play out. I think MSU failed here and he SHOULD have been suspended back in March.
How you going to make a comment that was refuted in the very video you're commenting on? Fix your nose. Your sniff test is about as good as Mel Tucker is at coaching.
