I just got back from there a few days ago and the pools on the closed side of the resort are still open and extremely well kept. And a few buildings were open on that side too, just no bars/restaurants/public bathrooms open. Me and my husband spent a lot of time in those pools as many people didn’t know they are open and we were often the only people over there. It was so nice.
We never get tired of seeing your Cuba videos. There’s so much RU-vid content out there, but what sets your content above the rest is your humility and your appreciation for the island and the people. I also appreciate that you take a basic garden view room, and you never take advantage of your influence for upgrades. The end result is that the viewer gets a realistic expectation of what to expect.
Ted!!! I always appreciate your comments!!! You've been with us our entire Journey in the Beginning until now!!!! thanks so much for all your Support and Kindness!!! We absolutely appreciate it Ted Mike and Jenny!!!!
My wife and I are going to this resort on April 11th. I wish this video was available before then. We are both huge fans and have watched all your videos.
My wife and I just got back from Perla Blanca. The grounds were the nicest we have seen in Cuba and beach was amazing. We're some shortages but there's always something to eat and drink. We've watched your videos and might try Cayo Largo next.
@@barbarazyma1797they never happy if you give them something! My experience. Next time i am not bringing anything! They expecting 💰! Fu** them all, they think we are reach!😂
Friend and allow me to call you that, good morning from Montreal Quebec Canada, I tell you that my wife and I were at that hotel a few years ago and the week we spent there was wonderful, If you walk to the left on the beach you will find a place like no other in the world, it is the nature reserve there. In the Lobby bar we share every night after dinner. I swear it was fantastic
I was there last week of March, it was nice, there was minimal entertainment. Bring your toilet paper, staff were very nice, food was ok, a bit repetative, when there were eggs we wouldn’t have cheese and visa versa, I’d suggest bringing salad dressing, condiments, certainly didn’t go hungry. Always lots of proteins to eat. The pool near building 29 is open, just the bar and washrooms weren’t but there were staff to get lounge pads if you wanted them. It was nice and quiet, no loud music etc. Some of us like the quiet and it was perfect. Only drawback was the long bus drive from airport.
Great video! I remember that dog from the airport when I was leaving lol. Looks like a nice place. The pool is really nice. The theatre looks almost exactly like Grand Aston. I wonder if the same place designs the newer resorts? They all look sorta similar. That was not your toilet paper! That is a nice beach. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to the next resort as always!
Valentin is our go to resort in Cuba. We’ve been here 3 times in the last 4 years and are heading back in 2025. The beach is the nicest I’ve ever seen and the people are so warm and welcoming. We’ve made amazing friends over the years. Something about watching this video made me miss “our special place”. Great job!
When It Comes to Beaches I never joke around!!! LOL ITs the Only reason i got on the plane!!! I don't come for the Ham and Cheese sandwiches or White Wine...lol Mike
Another great video, but please, don’t grab the cheese at the buffet with your hands from the serving tray. That’s what the Tong that was there is for. 😅
Absolutely great channel!! Finally the realistic view of one of the most wonderful places to go . Mike you tell it like it is . Cuba is what it is .Enjoy yourself, things aren't perfect . I look forward to the videos. Keep up the great work. My favorite place to go .Wishing you safe travels and great times !
Another great review, that beach looks amazing and the resort too. Another nice place in that area is the Sol Cayo Santa Maria, you should check it out 😀🌞
I always enjoy your videos of CSM and CC. I go once or twice a year. I was at the VPB in November. Beach is beautiful but windy most days. I hope you were able to get out on a Hobie cat. Thanks for another positive video of my favourite vacation spot.
Wooooooo you return to paradise beaches of Cuba . I love the video you explain really good the situacion in Cuba always the food but for me is not important i always going because the beaches are the best and really quite is really place to relax . My personal opinion de best of Cuba are the Cayos Santa Maria ,Cayo Coco and Cayo Largo . My last time was Cayo Santa Maria and stay in Royalton Cayo Santa Maria wàs very good and nice of course up and down with the food but they try to do best for you nice people there . Thanks Mike again for your video and let ùs know how the thing going in Cuba .... please relax you need after your nice trip to Thailand . ❤❤
Glad it was helpful!, Remember Cuba has its ups and downs, go with the flow!!!sometimes they run out of times but could be in the next day!!! Enjoy your time!! Mike
Thanks! Thanks Budeweiser!!! Probably the best Sunrise I've Ever Witnessed!!! I was so lucky to Capture it!!!! Thanks for watching and your Comment!!! Mike
Hey Mike great video as always!! That Resort looks massive. The beach is phenomenal. The food looks superb and lots of it. What a great place to kick back and enjoy. I can't wait to get back to Cuba unfortunately it won't be until Winter. Your videos are the reason we went to Cuba the first time and we sure had a great trip!!
Enjoyed the video as always. Cayo Santa Maria is on our radar for later this year. We were thinking of the Angsana as it is smaller, but this place certainly deserves consideration.
Mike, try olmeca dark chocolate tequila in your coffee sometime in cuba. Its amazing! I brought a bottle home. This resort looks fantastic! Maybe my next destination. Thanks!
I was at this resort in 2016 and 2018 both shorty before tropical storms and the place took a hit both times the roof blew off the theater in 2016 good to see how this place does great when running around 100% would like to go back one day and its adults only
Hey Mike, when you say top beaches, of the 5 ( not many), I've been to, the beach at Melia Las Dunas in Santa Maria is like none I've ever seen. My post card beach, so far.
Wife and I were there Jan-16 to Jan-23 this year. The beach/ocean was unreal. Hotel was 2-3 out of 5. Food 2-3 out of 5 too (eggs for only 2 days and I'm pretty sure food was re-heated more than once). Staff was good, but we could see they needed more money to get by. We had issues getting water (bottled) where I did asked for more than 1 bottle a day and they flat-out asked "WHY?". Airport to Hotel and vice-versa sucks big time. Lots of smokers everywhere (our room smelled since the neighbor smoked on the balcony). Overall we liked the experience and the price point (1590 CAD for 2 + 60 USD in tips - bring lots of USD singles). PRO tip: pay extra for flights that arrive and leave close to hotel check-in/check-out. Overall I recommend going there at least once. Sunwing had a flashsale 2 weeks ago for 709 CAD for 7 days (last-minute deals). Almost forgot: Bring clean sheets if possible (at least pillowcases, thank me later)
Well Cuba is not for everyone!!! For some the best is to Save up $2000 more and head to Mexico or Dominican. Less safe but if you need absolutely stunning White Sheets and pillow cases that would be you best bet.
@@Finding-Fish I agree, Cuba is not for everyone, but the beach/ocean certainly is :D Also, I wouldn't say stunning white sheets, I would say basic clean sheets would suffice. Thanks for the video!
Is it??? in what way? The way the Cubans do shift changes, (greeting one another) interact during their Shifts. Kiss, hung, laugh and engage telling stories and laughing and just plan living. Culture is everywhere!!! Many Cubans that are married work at the same Resort, meet at the Resorts, and will spend their lives working together at Resorts. Culture looks different to everyone I guess!!!
Hey buddy i just got back from there april 18. It was a DISASTER. No water in main pool, by day seven it had a foot of water left in it. I didnt receive ANY toilet paper at all, i brought my own toilet paper and had to hide it because im convinced the cleaning lady was stealing it lol. Also my room had no water for 3 days. The only good food was breakfast and the hamburgers by the beach. Yes the beach was beautiful but i wont be coming back.
There is a reason why the prices of Cuban resorts have dropped so dramatically compared to last year. When I was in Cayo Coco last year it cost us about $3400 and this year we can get it for $2000. They are hurting bad.
What a great start to my Sunday here in Texas. Sat down to my fave plate of migas and your latest vlog. Love it! Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go? Thanks for the great info Steve S.
Hey Steve!!! Texas!!! I want a T-bone steak 🥩!!! Lol Golf carts yes!! No elevators but yes to ramps!!! It’s a massive resort so getting around can take time
Crazy funny man, shows the macaronnies and cucumbers to the camera! Came to show the beach but instead showed the humburger! Less of the beach but a lot of YOU!
The price of car rental depends on the number of days you rent it and now there is a new rate that makes it more affordable and that must be visible in the office
It was in the afternoon the pool was busy!!! was lastweek!!! I don't travel at march break!!! The water won't look this good in the Morning have a good one
Most phone chargers can handle a range between 120-220volts already. Cuba uses 220volt. If you bring your curling iron be careful what outlet you plug it into or get a travel curling iron that can handle both voltages..
I forgot to tell you that we were in the BIP area where we had special services and where the pool is incredibly splendid and unique for its characteristics.
Can you please comment on the jellyfish situation people keep posting about? Manowar or something like that? Have you ever had any jellyfish problems? Thanks!
First!!! What resorts or Area's have they Seen them, my 40th Trip!!! 4th this year, haven't seen ONE!!!!! What area of Cuba are these being seen in? Mike
I was at the resort over the Christmas Holidays 2023. The bartenders said they didn't ecpect the full resort to be fully open till 2025. They were saying that some ressorts had not even opened since travel restrictions had lifted due to covid. The resort has a facebook fan page, and they are gradually shifting people form one side of the resort to the closed side. As for coment that the pool was low on water, they were closing that pool for a fuel cleaning.
I think mTopLess!!!! I don't Think Full Nude but its a massive place and people do what they plase!! are you asking a question Mike? Are you looking for a nude beach?
I just came back from the Valentine. The pros: beach, staff, coffee, the room, the place, the pool, but unfortunetly not the food. The best pulled pork sandwich at the beach but always a long line up
Have you been to Santa Maria? They are both fantastic, But if you want to get away from everyone Perla Blanca to the left!!! i've made many videos about both!!!
Most of the Cuban resorts have empty room fridges now. Even a year ago they were stocked with beers, water, cola, fanta. Sadly we know this means the Cuban people are even more worse off too.
@@Finding-Fish i just came back eight days ago, we were for two weeks. I was surprised, food was not bad for Cuba, no complains, ice cream was delicious, we had eggs etc.....small cute resort, i loved it. Bungalows very clean! As you know the beach 🏝️ is amazing, lots of kite surfers 🏄♀️ but this is the place for them because of the wind. Of course sometimes is no wind so the beach is quiet! Paradise ! One morning i went to see Iberostar Daiquiri next to us, too may sea weeds there, i did not like it, resort looks so empty to me, maybe because i was eight o clock in the morning,
