The song "Valerie" was originally written by Dave McCabe, lead singer and guitarist of the British band "The Zutons". It was released on their second studio album "Tired of Hanging Around" in 2006. The year after, Amy Wienhouse and Mark Ronson reached number two on the UK Singles Chart with a slightly more up-beat cover of the song, a version that ever since has become the blueprint for almost every cover made of this song.

Apologies for the poor video quality in the Amy Winehouse clips. I debated with myself which recording to use and I decided to go with this live recording from the Brit Awards 2008 despite it's low resolution because it's such a fantastic performance from Amy

Yozhik v Tumane, plz consider executing a mashup of Screamin' Jay Hawkins' original, with all his theatrical antics, contrasted by the child Angelina's homage, attracted to this wild man's style of singing it. A successful unification of these contrasts (including her child's vocals) in a video would be monumental.

@@YozhikvTumane , thnx! I watched it. And also have seen the one u did where she sings it at later ahe, and posted feedback. This particular performance by Hawkins is his version musically, i think, that A.J. models the form she most refers to. She musta been quite amused by his antics, but it his vocals here that she musta studied to shape her version. Consider a mashup ( like ur successful one w Winehouse & "Valerie"). Again, a contrast of this tender child's, and Hawkins' deep voice, would be quite striking and show how profound the accomplishment her talent and intelligence produced at such an early age. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-orNpH6iyokI.html I wish she would revisit too Hawkins' " Portrait of a Man".

To be able to sing along side the likes of Amy and Bruno, and sound every bit as good. That says a lot. In fact, I think if you played this to 100 people at random that had never heard any of these singers... at least 80 of them are going to say Angelina's is the best vocal.

Absolutely! I've listened to this several times now, and each time just verifies my conclusion: Angelina is the Best! It's one of her best performances (the Neumann mike helps), and one of my very favorite videos.

I love Bruno mars and I loved Amy weinhouse actually I didn't her life style but she was huge in music industry and that is a shame she is not in this world any more I really don't want to be fanatic about angelina but I really believe her version was best angelinas vocal just makes difference and what is more crazy about angelina that she sings every song with ease at such young age

Well, that was fun! Thanks Yozhik, and kudos for the great mashup. Sorry to show my bias, but the only two worth listening to for me were Amy and Angelina. And overall, I prefer Angelina, who I believe was 12 here. Best wishes, Yozhik, and looking forward to your next mashup. How about "Wicked Game" or "It's a Man's World"? Billy J

Yes, I second that, with a preference for It s a Man s World! I would love, love a huge mashup composed in three or four parts of Cry me a River (including her reherseals)! Accordind to Wikipedia, there are around 250 (!!!!) recordings of this song only! Honestly, only Angelina s version haunts me, sometimes all day, and, even, makes me cry. This is my best love song of all time!!! Thanks in advance, Yozhik!

Great video! Thanks for doing this as usual. I love these mashups you make for everyone to enjoy! Angelina certainly did well against the original artists (The Zutons) and Amy Winehouse, who is one of the jazz greats of all time, and certainly had the best back up support (sister Juliette 😁).

Bruno Mars surprised me favorably, was very good indeed, Amy was equal to herself, maybe more dynamic and upbeat than usually, but Angelina, without the big orchestra and the spotlights of the stage, is oustanding, she surpasses herself for that kind of hip hop jazz dance music by being natural, avoiding unnecessary frills and using some of her vocal abilities (vocal fry, rich tone, vocal clarity) to produce the best voice sound effects possible for that song. Thank you, Yozhik, for that very entertaining video. Am i allowed to make a request? If so, how about a mashup of Bohemian Rhapsody and a mashup of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road?
