Personally, I enjoyed seeing you work around the current limitations! You did a good job on this project (no surprise there). You are truly a talented wood worker and I wish you and your family the very best and stay safe.
Great project. The chicken and the egg comment just reminded me of the flight of the conchords episode🐔🥚😂 I need to watch those again! Band meeting... Present.
I have watched a number of your videos. You have great design and good free hand drawing skills. These last two videos show that while we all venerate hand tools, and the skills necessary to effectively use them, it is near impossible to make perfect joints and furniture without them, much less made a living without them. Love your sliding table panel saw!
That first shot of you using the hand saw, I thought to myself, man that one sharp saw! yeah yeah, it took this rider a second or two, to catch-up to his horse... lmao, duh... 🤣🤣🤣 Looks awesome, mate 👍🏽 Loving the sleekness of it and the contrasting colours. 👌🏽
Good Job Joey, It's amazing what you can do with hand tools LOL. I have a seat Valet that I made years ago, But yours is more interesting because of the joinery you used. I'm sure you will be out of lock down soon and then back to the shop. You will miss the satisfaction of the hand tool builds 😎
My (late) father's valet stand had a deeper and larger shelf, almost like a box. Myself, I use a chair, and a medium tray for a landing spot for my pocket stuff and such. I also use metal hooks that rest on the top side of the closet doors to hang coat hangers and such. Unfortunately my apartment is very small. But I'd like to get a quality valet stand, if I had the room.
While I’m happy you found the jigsaw, I really appreciated your technique of relief cuts and the chisel work to form the curves. Thanks, and I hope you and the family are well!
Joey I have come to learn that it is not the size of your shop or work space or how many tools you have. It’s all about using your mind and your hands to make something great. Dennis DuPerron September,2018
Hi , I am a wood salesman, our small factory make wood board. Also make some bed and door. We make it quick, mostly used machines. If possible, I want to talk with you and share experience with each other.
Very nice Joey, I always enjoy your work! Sorry you can't get to your shop, but many of us are enjoying your hand tool focus for now. I took a slightly different approach to solving the same (where do my clothes go) challenge. Sorry, the editing isn't great as this was from two years ago right when I started my RU-vid channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OIA1DvOoAao.html
Matthias wandell put a video years ago strength testing tenon joints tight right and loose and found loose with lots of glue was as strong. Not a good finding for the perfectionists.
