As much as I love Omar Cardona, my favorite Voiceplay lineup is this one…Geoff, Eli, Layne, J and Caesar. They can do no wrong

Such an epic song! Loved Cesar in this one too, his acting was on par with how he was in Hoist the Colours. So intense! And he wore the same cloak Jose wore in my mother told me 😊

Thought you'd enjoy. This is so ridiculously epic, when it dropped on Patreon I swear I watched it through without drawing a breath! I love all Voiceplay's collaborators but these are THE FIVE & it's brilliant when J gets leave & flies in to make a video!! Geoff's new one's out next Friday plenty of bass & a sweet video.

I love that they have J returning home in this. He’s been away and now he’s coming back where he belongs. Note to Geoff: Heimdahl called. He wants his Gjallarhorn back. ☄️ Among their tattoos are runes spelling out VoicePlay. Cesar’s is on his face, Geoff has one on his forearm and there’s too much going on for me to figure out where everybody else has one. A lot of the costuming is from MMTM. Patrons have been privy to it for a while now and have started growing back brain cells so we’re able to watch it again and enjoy the rest of you having your brains ooze out your ears. Layne did the arrangement and Eli the amazing backgrounds. It was filmed, not green screen, but at a studio with immense (Full wall!) led screens. In My Mother Told Me Eli was a beserker. He obviously has recruited the whole group now. Even Cesar was scary.

It's difficult to pick one moment out of VoicePlay's amazing arrangement of this amazing song - but the glint in Geoff's eyes and that slight smile as he sings: "Shields and spears" is worth a *shiver* or two. :D

Layne did the arrangement, but Eli moved mountains on this one. Only one word for this song. Epic. Really hoping we get another installment. They do Vikings so well!

Voiceplay parked Geoff in the basement for this one and he formed the bedrock that lets the others soar like that. I’m not sure he ever got out of his lowest range during the song. Add to that he looks like the Kurgan’s even meaner brother (look it up). Eli and J None, especially J None make this one fly.

This is single handedly one of the best covers ever, i mean J NONE's rap, Eli and Cesear with their amazing rock tenor side lanes betboxing and of course Geoffs mega low B0's were absolutely amazing - I'm kinda scared how easy that soudned and how long he held it for, Great reaction Dave. Ever since watching the premiere I've been waiting for reactors to explode when they watch this & you - as usual - did not disappoint! This is such an epic production in every way from Eli's backgrounds to seeing the whites of our favorite "berserkers" eyes. I've lost count of how many times I've watched/listened to this in the past day and I can't imagine getting tired of it. I'm hoping that the imagery of J None returning to the group from the sea is just foreshadowing what will come, because these 5 together are mind bending!! Love from Texas! ❤💜💙

As Much as I ADORE Peyton Parrish, Miracle of Sound, and Eric Holloway’s version-THIS version has incredible depth and is the ONLY version that has given me goosebumps.

I thought they wouldn't get it any better, than last (their cover My mother told me) ... but... this is VOICEPLAY!!! these guys will never let you down. as far as I'm used to Geoff, but I'm surprised again)

Your reaction to this is one I've been waiting for since it was released yesterday!! Loved it! 👍 Miracle of Sound has 4 versions of this on his channel - his original, a duet with Peyton, a trio with Peyton and Eric Holloway (That Bass Voice) and a metal version. Jonathan Young has also done a stonking metal version. And now along comes VoicePlay with their epic take on it! When VP put out a "short" heralding this I was excited as I'd been thinking that a cover by them was needed. As expected, they didn't disappoint! (MoS has commented on VP's video that this is the most creative version he's heard/seen.) Geoff's bass, outstanding as ever, made me come over all unnecessary 😍- it seemed somehow richer and more powerful than ever in this mix. Eli brought out his inner rock god - always welcome! Cesar scared me!! He can look so sweet and playful yet here he was so intense in his characterisation and he brought out an inner rock god I didn't realise he possessed! Even Layne's vocals had a touch of rock god rasp to them and his beatboxing was as insane as always. And then J None came in with some rap! Now I'm an old bird who loves rock (as you might have guessed from my comments about rock gods and rock rasp!) and doesn't tend to like rap but this just seemed to fit so well. Acappella Vikings with rock and rap? 🤨Surely that shouldn't work 😵‍💫but it did! There are now 6 versions of this song on my Viking playlist. All very different yet all, to my mind, epic in their own way

I was waiting for your reaction, you always deliver very nice ones, and I love to watch you react to this kind of songs... And after watching the Voiceplay video the first time, I knew it would blow you away. 😅 This video, anyway, IMHO, raises the bar AGAIN. They're doing it EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I don't know what they'll be doing at the end of the year at this pace, but heck am I curious! 😁 One thing that hits me is that ALL THEM seem to improve time after time. Cesar "ferocious" grit was a nice surprise. Eli was in "full Rock God mode". Layne was making sounds I never thought possible. Geoff hit B0, not only at the beginning, but ,if I'm not mistaken, THREE times (the other two are a bit "hidden" in the TON of incredible vocal stuff that's happening at any given time). And J None... Well, he's J Noneing all over the place, and that rap! 😱 Makes me want to switch to Norge creed and worship Odin 😅. See you next time! Layne is actually of Scandinavian (Viking) ancestry, so this is likely right up his alley. Man is connecting with his ancestors on this one. This could legit be a soundtrack of a movie. Eli went up to Asgard to grab his notes, Geoff went down to Helheim to grab his notes, J.None borrowed his smooth melody from the realm of Alfheim, Caesar has the bloodlust of Thor in his eyes, and Layne has the cool calmness of Heimdall guarding the percussion ready to sound the horn for Ragnarök.

Honestly, as a long-time VoicePlay fan, they could totally do no wrong in my eyes. Every cover is pure fire, but this one...this one has absolutely taken the top spot for me as one of their very best.

Everyone was epic in this and I can't choose who to spotlight. Layne killing the perc, Cesar channeling his inner warrior, Eli the rock god, Geoff the earthquake with THREE B0s, or J and those bars. Eli did a ton of production work on this and Layne's arranging was jaw dropping. I'm kinda thinking it would be smart to invest in CPR equipment for any future songs. This is savage, pun intended. I would love to see the MIDI on this to see all the layers my ear can't catch even with repeated listening.

It's talented, but Dave... This isn't right. They are really good at singing, but it doesn't hearken to Valhalla, there's nothing about this song that matches their performance of it. And it's honestly just disappointing hearing this version. What is Valhalla, Dave? It's not a "paradise" where you go to be entertained, Its a feasting hall where lies assembled the greatest fighters of mankind, to train, feast and await the days of Ragnarök to contest the end of all things against what comes to destroy us. Lighthearted acapella songs isn't it. there needs to be some grit, some anger, just Geoff on base isn't good enough. The only part of this that matches that feel and the feel of the original is J.NONE's rap. It honestly would have been better with just that part of it. Cut out everything else. It doesn't fit.

Pretty sure that's the most grit and rock sound we've had from eli. It's what I was expecting when they did the Metallica cover so that's why I was quite disappointed by it
