Great new video Homitu! Very beautiful Victorian house! I like your approach “add one feature at a time”. It really helps when you’re in the early-mid section of the game. Please continue to make more vids! Thanks!
man this vid is amazing. thanks for taking the time to go though each phase. im going to try to recreate this. can i just say, i lurrrv the windimll houses.. .. not sure how u did this but im going to give it a go. and the landscaping. im still watching that bit.. catching up on vids. :) thanks again :)
Hahaha, I didn't intend for that to sound ominous. They're not too difficult to make! But let me know if you hit a snag and I'll see what I can do to talk you through it :)
That fat chimney is definitely a look but I think it would look more appealing if it tapered off - from a fat rectangle to a fine square. I imagine it like a wine bottle; a fat base tapering off to a long thin neck
Great question. Most builds are purely for the fun of the build and the satisfaction of chilling at them when done. Sadly, there's never really much of a vital FUNCTION to any Valheim build. The nature of Valheim's survival progression encourages you to move on to close proximity of the next key resource, setup shop there until completion, then move on again. To answer your question: I have several worlds at this point, but most builds exist on 1 of 3 worlds. Sadly, most builds get moved on from but never forgotten! I log in purely to stroll through them all from time to time. Gotta take some time to bask in the glory of your creations every now and then ;) Valheim is just super relaxing to chill in.
Hey, got curiopus about your mod and downloaded AUGA as well, been loving it. but, I'm having an issue wher when I am selecting a build piece, somewhere in the middle of the screen. some buttons cant be clicked properly, there are some areas of the button where you can and cant click on (For example when I got to buildings, the top half of the tatch roof 45 until wood beam 1m). the bug happens everywhere on screen even on other menus, theres like an invisible rectangle that you cant click on. when I remove auga it works fine, only using V+ and better equipment mods, did you have this issue as well? and did you manage to find a fix?
I haven't logged in with Auga in a couple months, so I'm not sure. Check out their discord. They're very active with updates and bug reporting over there!
I'm a "figure it out as I go along" builder, so I have trouble with planning out a whole build from the get-go. I often get overwhelmed by build videos that either just showcase a finished product or start out with a detailed floor plan, because unless I follow that to a t, there's no way I can recreate it. It also wouldn't feel like "mine", because it wouldn't be, I'd just copy someone else's build. Which isn't bad, just not always what I'm after. This is why I love your videos so much. While you do give a step by step explanation of how your build came to be, it's not anything to do with block counts and all that, but giving us guidelines and inspiration. Most importantly, you start with a basic box and show us the myriad of ways we can customize that step by step. To me, starting with something tangible like this is way better than starting with an empty, flat piece of land that gives me blank page syndrome.
Thanks, friend! That's exactly the way I am, too - which is what gave me the idea for these kinds of videos. I generally have 3 or 4 loose ideas of what I want my build to be about, but have zero vision to visualize the finished product. I just start experimenting with 1 or 2 of the ideas at a time and see what comes of it. That act of experimenting inevitably leads to other ideas, which I then test, which leads to yet new ideas, on and on. It's a fun discovery process more than anything. But I hear ya on the blank page syndrome. I used to get completely paralyzed with limitless possibilities, so I found just starting with some simple shape or box to get the ball rolling is sometimes all I need to get going. The lesson I've learned thus far: there's literally no wrong way to begin a build! So worrying about messing something up from the beginning is ridiculous! Thanks for watching and commenting on a bunch of my videos! 😊
I think I'm a level 2 builder :/ I have absolutely zero vision or imagination. I'm grateful for videos like this. So, thank you! Edit: Just finished the video. It turned out fantastic!
Very honest and creative guide! ❤it! But let's think positiv about rotten and damaged built peeces, at least for the console players who aren't able to mod. It tripples the variety of depth in colour and shape. The backrest of the marble bench for example breaks appart or the cart looks like unused for years. You will even get little unique storage boxes if you fill the slots and destroy the cart completely. You will have to damage some peeces yourself with a bow though because they can be covered by invisible hitboxes of trees. And yes, in the world of Valheim iron peeces do rust when hit by an arrow, it's just how it is :) Don't get this any negative! I like the content 100%!
After watching this, I was inspired, but my tower circle was slightly larger than yours so the roofs ended up being ever so slightly off in height (I think by 1m), even with adding the roof layer. It took a few hours to get the roof to look decent, but still doesn't look as good as yours. I hope they add the ability to alter things by 1m/adding 1m pieces. Even when it came to the chimney (which I couldn't get the 2nd story hearth to work without offsetting btw, despite having extra height), I wanted to make the stone overlap the sides and back of the hearth so just the fire was visible. I had to manually place to get it looking alright.
